I agree with Bump, I happened to need an attorney some time back and hired a guy from Roi Et.
I may as well have represented myself because this guy was a clown, he managed to make a simple case into a complete farce.
My lesson learnt, you get what you pay for!
Carefull with Rayrai Attorney!
going to do my thai will, again, today at amphure, though simple matter. amphur cost and little tip for gal to write it up. had to cancel old one friday, which was done by same gal, bigger tip, but i was getting quotes from 3-10000 baht, so that turned out to be a bargain, this one will be bit less. simply and nothing complicated, just transfer of all funds from sale of house to me, and not family members. excuse me, not my will, Ree's will. just in case, though she doesn't ride on motorbike, so should be alive long enough to sell house.
also agree with aussieboy, land transfers and leases, gift of habatats are too easy to add to land papers, as long as you do know what is being written. takes a trusted translator. aussieboy's was much harder than mine, i/we just dictated the fill in the blanks form on computer, he pushes button, we sign. signed for life, for free, for paperwork cost. no taxes. just lovely.
i've done the same in the states, wills and real estate transfers without lawyers, and some states allow other things done without lawyers, if uncontested, had a divorce done thru legal service, couple hundred dollars. and if uncontested here, they are even easier, and amphur fees and your' done. there's a spot on back of divorce, for details of settlement, mine had a big fat -0- on it, to the stamper's surprise. yep, that's right, nothing, just stamp the damn thing. of course he has the best job in thailand. husband speak thai, no, you need new boyfriend
