Tempted to say "let them know when you wan't to see them and someone will arrange it for you", but that would be naughty wouldn't it?

Surely that would make it 06:00 on TUESDAY morning not Wednesday.

It seems the safety may be only superficial. Class warfare could be just around the corner. It is wise to remain aware of your surroundings.

I've heard reports that many red shirts are removing posters of certain key figures from their homes.

UDON THANI, Thailand — “Hello, Abhisit!” shouted a young man, holding an imaginary telephone with an imaginary connection to the prime minister. “Thank you for giving us stupid buffaloes this train! Too bad you killed us!”

As the sun rose over the familiar rice fields of home after an overnight train ride paid for by the government, another man banged a plastic jug against the back of a seat and chanted, “We are in the red zone, we are in the red zone.”........

1 week ago, i predicted it is only a matter of time before the Bangkok troubles came to Udon, now i say that when the first innocent Farang bystander is killed, that is when the rush for the exit will commence.

But where will we all go ? Thailand is the most advanced economy in South East Asia. Laos and Cambodia are primitive,
And most of us can't afford to return to farang lands,

Maybe in the interim, those fearful in Udon and other provinces, could move to Nong Khai where the absence of conflict has been very notable and evidenced by the lack of curfew and turmoil incidents! =D>

And in saying that are you implying that bridges have been burnt or is it a financial thing. IMO most of us have an escape plan in place and it's been their since settling here. If you have not --- som nom na!

There may be any number of reasons for needing it not necessarily just political.

I can see a situation coming where the Grand Master will pass away right in the middle of all this political strife, and then the struggle between the 'haves ' and 'have nots' could cause the wheels to fall off in a big way.

Yes, I wonder what marfab2 decided?
Marfab2, you out there? Give us an update.
If you do decide on coming and doing your internship...I for one would be interested in your experiences as a Westerner doing a "three month internship at Rajaphat University Udon". Perhaps start a new thread under "Open Forum".

OT would, without hesitation, be heading to the Philippines. Everything a grown man could want is there plus they speak American which is a type of English.

Yes , i would agree about Philippines, it has a small insurency problem in South only to worry about

But what would we do with our teeraks ?

Probably what most of them would do with us, if they had to choose between half million baht and us, their husbands

Kind of early to be bailing out isn't it?

May be more trouble. But, we don't know that yet.

Looks like the curfew will be extended for another 7 days, provided it gets cabinet approval. Proposed to amend times from midnight to 4am.

I read an intervju with a man returning from Bangkok to his neglected rice field in Udon. He claimed that the reds did not lose. (So they won then?) And it is not over. But they did not have any leaders now and there is no one to tell them what to do! So the man does not know what to do!
The word sheep comes to my mind but I fear other expressions be more appropriate.
