Fawn, could have done with more HSE on my first trip to Australia many years ago - 5 engine failures (fortunately only one at a time, but seemed like every time we tried to take off). Fortunately it was a 747 so had an engine or 2 to spare. I always count the engines before i fly now ......

After all that thunder and lightning and p1ssing with rain and flooding and getting the bl0ody hump over getting the car washed again over the last few days, I am now looking out from my place, this evening, and everything now seems hunkydory, lovely blue sky, not too hot, relaxing breeze, cold beer, exxxxccceppt those little M/fs letting off the fireworks every two minutes, it's frightening my kittens..so I'm off to get my catapult and will shoot the next fireworker up the ar2e...

I went to the Thai Embassy in London today because the Dragon needs to hand in her application for a new Thai E passport. She filled out the application at home but she needed to go to the Embassy to hand in the paperwork with the old passport and have her photo taken. Apparently it will take 4 to 6 weeks to process the new passport.

Well yesterday I went to buy a set of Sheep Skin car seat covers and the last time I bought some for the wife (6 months ago) they were $89.95. I walk in the shop and the same brand is on special for $39.95 :D Today I went to the shop for Potatoes and onions but the wife phones and asks for a can of Tuna. The locally produced stuff is $3.99 for a 435g can, I look to the left and there it is "Product Of USA" Alaskan Pink Salmon 415g can for $1.99. I bought two :D I can't wait for the next bargain :D

Yesterday , we planned a medevac drill with a guy with a compound fracture of his leg.

Drill briefed, all parties aware , codes in place in the event of a real incident occuring, and also to stop a helicopter from being sent from someone out of left field.

Drill went well suprisingly, ended at 1450 hours.

Still a long way to go yet out here.

What a day 2day, nothing but sanook sanook sanook, had a nice lay in this morning and a bit of romance with the wife before the kids got up, then, a new thing I've been trying after other posters recommendations..cycling, as I've not got a bike I have to do the cycling without actually going anywhere down the local gym...velly velly hard work, took me 11 minutes to burn off 100 calories going flat out according to the machine, and a bit of a sore back side at the end of it... now I'm wondering if there's an easier way to loose 100 calories in 11 minutes :-k I think what I did when I first woke up may be the answer \:D/

Today prepared a submission for 29000 GBP for a specialised vehicle for transport of the trauma patient, we cant have a dedicated ambulance, so looking at the Argocat from UK, 8WD with tracks for the brutal winter here ( -35 ) Currently have to hand carry patients up to 800 metres over unstable terrain etc

Got to go cap in hand to all the divisions as nobody likes my submission ! probably coz of budgetary issues.

But lessons learnt over 30 years, using HSE and well documented clinical evidence that it effects patients outcomes, morbidity and mortality.

No one surely will reject this now, waits with baited breath !

Ron, what tests did they do to come to such a Technical conclusion that you should mash your food ?? Did they check for an Ulcer, take xrays to view the lining of your stomach, blood tests etc ???? If in doubt consult our local Paramedic Wazza for some possibilities ??????? Have you been bitten by insects recently ??

What a scorcher today in the fabulous UT - 2day I had my first lessons in Isaan dancing.. I took to it like a duck to water - the idea is to move your mid section backwards and forwards, then you move your legs and feet in a jerking motion a a bit like a chicken, sort of moving and then suddenly stopping for no apparent reason then abruptly starting over the same sequence - your arms and hands must be completely disconnected from anything else the rest of your body is doing, your arms must be fully extended and your hands and fingers twirl around as much as they can .. and here comes the interesting bit... at any non specific point your hands must be able to start a rolling motion up and down in the air whilst you are performing a 360 degree turn...

Good to see some activity from the forum's seniors, those actions sound like movements from the Hokey Kokey, is it worth digging out your Pearly individual outfit for the next meeting?

Called to 1 of the clinics this afternoon, to assist the local quack.

Yes Dr he isnt looking well is he.

How about u start to treat the guy now and I will coordinate an emergency medevac for you.

Chopper arrived and flew 500ft for the next 40m mins, scimming the Caspian Sea due to altitude physiology and the patients condition.

I think the pilots like to fly low sometimes eh Fawn ??

And you were flying with them as well then, you lucky devil?

Yes, the jockeys that I've spoken to seem to enjoy going low level and I can understand why. I haven't done that in ages, I shouldn't have left the Mob should I.

It's boring office work for Westers these days, although I get out into the hangar now and again.
