Hey chaps, this guy has been around for some time, either he is very succesful or someone is taking care of him, and not advertising the fact.

I haven't met him Steve, but I friend of mine has. He certainly claims to be German but does speak good English, with a slight accent. When my friend suggested that he took his problem to Nobi (as they were nor far away from Nobi's) or even tried Thomas Resort he replied that "Germans do not help Germans". Seemed to my friend a strange thing to say (as it does to me) so maybe your suggestion that he is not actually German (just pretending to be one) could be right on the mark.

Now that is intersting as germans arenot predominately catholic but you never know, they are a german chiurch whose name I cannot remember.
At least we are agreed he is probably european, maybe form the old eastern bloc east germany, Poland, Hungary etc, those countries also speak a little german.
Unless spoken to in an environment he has to answer in, I suspect his true nationality will remain questionable and he will remain a pain in the proverbial as well.

Ok lets re-cap..Wears Bottle style glasses, blondish hair and a tash to match...He speeks good engleesh but He is German but could be from Hungary or poland or the nederlands or any other farang based country...he is seen around shopping areas shopping, he has no wallet,he has no cash he has no cards he has no friends he goes to church could be catholic or christian or one of the others...looks dishevlled at times and carrys a mop been around for sometime..but wears no hat as in the photo above... over to Clouseau i think.

So? There are Bundesländer (States) in Germany with a predominant Catholic majority. Saarland and Bayern (Bavaria) e.g. are nearly 60% Catholic!

I am 99% sure he is German. I know German accent from Dutch. He specifically asked me if I spoke English and I'm sure he said "Or better German." He may not be Catholic but his idea was he was told that in times of need Catholic priests would not turn ANYONE away.

He knows his history. After the war a few Nazis were sheltered by Catholic priests in Ireland (Italy too I think).

He may not necessarily be breaking any laws. Just cadging money from unsuspecting fahlang. Telling me one day he hasn't enough money for food, the next he is buying groceries and a mop in Tesco/Lotus. Think if I lost all my money, ATM credit cards a mop would be way down the list of essentials that I need. Unless he met Harry Potter and it was a broom and he planned to f**individual fly back to Germany on it.

What it needs is some one to ring the Tourist Police immediately he is seen " cadging money " and hopefully snapping a shot off of him.

That way, they can have a chat with the Udon 042 persuader perhaps.

If he proceeds to the carpark ie in Tesco, Big C, then another snappy shot of his car registration number, Would also assist the Police in introducing Constable 042 into the interview process.

Anyway, looks like he's gone to ground for the time being, probably shaving off his whiskers and having a better set of dentures fitted at one of those dentists that you lot recommend on this site.
