That's wicked.
You know, none of this Property Manager thing adds up, why would a Brit move to the Philippines to start a real estate business? Has he got a TGF/TW? Why would she move to the PI? Why didn't he just give notice to his customers and wrap up business and then move on?

Where ever Mr Gareth is they can't have internet, as i am sure he would of contacted all the concerned persons via this site.........as this is where it all started....and i am surprised someone from the company have not mentioned mentioned something also, its there name/buisness..but as always 'tit'.
Odd...velly odd.

BM,on the homepage, the advert still comes up so he has at least paid up on the advertising with Udonmap and unless I am mistaken the facebook is definately him, references to Boston United, him being from Lincolnshire, although funny how the facebook is now not showing a Thai lady as being one of his friends.
Anyways one month from now and am sure all will be revealed.

Boston? I've got a cousin that lives there. Funnily enough, there was a report on BBC the other week on how Estate Agents in Boston were discriminating against immigrants trying to rent properties in the town.pompui wrote:references to Boston United, him being from Lincolnshire,
That's Boston in Englandshire, Yanks.

Re: Missing property manager !!
Maybe the saddest thing about this story is that some expats believed they would benefit by working with a foreign-realtor/house manager instead of with a Thai. And then he pulled a David Copperfield....pooof

I also heard another rumour that he returned to the UK because of health problems.

Really? I'd have thought someone in the opfit would have said something.lee wrote:I also heard another rumour that he returned to the UK because of health problems.

Re: Missing property manager !!
Someone must still be running the company.....how about the *'Managing Director' that gets mentioned in the 'Fantastic' write up on the 'about us' section of the website...( a well written piece, wonder who did write it).. Trumpet and blowing springs to mind ....Is The company still operating...?.just because someone who worked there is missing(along with a set of keys) don't mean to say the whole thing has ceased trading.
*Gareth jumped at the opportunity of joining the Professional as the General Manager, when invited to do so by the Managing Director.

That's right, why didn't the General Manager and the Thai girl take control if the chap had health issues? The other day, I wrote:But didn't Lee say on another thread that the UP&L opfit was still open? The Lincolnshire estate agent has gone, but what's become of his partner and the 'general manager'?

Re: Missing property manager !!
Just to shed abit more light on this matter i had a email from a mate in the UK saying that he'd heard that Gareth was indeed in hospital in Lincolnshire and had undergone quite a serious operation - could not say wot exactly but presumed he would be staying there for the forseeable future.

Re: Missing property manager !!
Well, that's right, he did suffer from some injuries a while back from a mugging on Soi Nong Bua which resulted in a hospital stay. Maybe he needed more advanced treatment than he thought he could get here? Or maybe he just needed to take a holiday break away from this Land of Holidays. Probably has too much time and money invested here to just throw it away and will return.
Re: Missing property manager !!
Sorry for keep dredging up this post but ,if he had a serious health problem, why is it so difficult for the company to say that and also to pay up the o/s bill with Udonmap?
It takes more than one person to run a company.
Get well soon Gareth and maybe if he knew how the company is behaving in his absence then he would think all his hard work in setting up here was all a waste of time and energy.

Re: Missing property manager !!
I have said this a couple of times on here. Even the seemingly most smooth running Falang organisations in Udon (for example The Irish Clock) take a very swift downturn in service if the owner is not actually on site.pompui wrote:Get well soon Gareth and maybe if he knew how the company is behaving in his absence then he would think all his hard work in setting up here was all a waste of time and energy.
It is just another reason why owning a business in Udon holds no attractions to me. You have to be there all the time it is open if you want to give the customers just good service.

I'd add that the person managing the till at nearly every Chinese-family operated store is either the owner or a direct family member. There's a reason!!!

Re: Missing property manager !!
That's had me puzzled also. I can't even get hold of his former business partner Steve (4 peaks residence), apparently he's also returned to the UK leaving an o/s bill.pompui wrote:why is it so difficult for the company to say that and also to pay up the o/s bill with Udonmap?
So true Bob, now when did I have my last holiday.BobHelm wrote:You have to be there all the time it is open if you want to give the customers just good service.

Re: Missing property manager !!
so every one has returned back to UK (with the set of keys what started all this).and more or less abandoned the operation without a word........very professional,we will have to go with all the rumours then if no one will come forward, what a shame all that effort in the first place, nice opfit ...nice write up they did on the website about themselves...nice website too....all very well done.

You can see a rather nice Thai girl also on the UP&L website - maybe you could contact her?lee wrote:I can't even get hold of his former business partner Steve Slade of 4 peaks residence, apparently he's returned to the UK also leaving an o/s bill.

Working in Thailand is certainly a lot more enjoyable than back in the UK, but it's still work at the end of the day.Fawn wrote:You're on an extended holiday, you live in Thailand.
