conmen in UT

Chipped a tooth back in August when I was in Udon last time. Went to a dentist to get a quote for a filling the next morning, and was told 500 - 600bht after a quick look. Made an appointment for the next morning, and the dentist started grinding away more and more. I asked him what the hell he was doing, and he told me I would need a crown because of the amount of decay. Price of the crown? 10,000 bht. I told him to take an x-ray and I would see for myself.(wouldn't have a clue what to look for) He did as I asked, and informed me that I didn't need a crown after all. He filled my now, half a tooth, with the cheapest s**t you could imagine and I left. 100 bht. for the x-ray and 500 bht. for the filling. Had to get it fixed up when I got back to Canada. Wish i could find his card with the address to pass on to you. This guy is definitely a con.

You got exactly what you paid for - in my opinion

You were given a quote and chose to return in full knowledge of the price you would be paying.

Did you get a second quote ??

Yes there are conmen all around the world ,the way I deal with it is to never drop my guard . When approached by a potential conman I bark at him with a tone if he is being friendly just to rip me off im not going to be responsible for your actions I personally find best defence is going on the attack. So far have never been had the wool over my eye's and they won't start in Udon Thani Thailand .
