Thanks for that, 747, it is very helpful. In particular when you compare it to Toronto which opens up with a wind chill of -32 tomorrow morning. However, even that is mild compared to the Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba which will be in the -40 to -50 range.

National –
The Thai Meteorological Department today, April 29th, issued a weather warning of summer storms in upper Thailand from today to May 2nd.
According to the announcement, the southerly and the southeasterly winds prevailing over upper Thailand will strengthen. During 1 – 2 May, a moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to the North and the Northeast, resulting in hot to very hot weather in the upper country.

An outbreak of thunderstorms with gusty wind and hail is forecast in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East regions. The affected areas are as followings:

29 April

North: Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Tak, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Kamphangphet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun.



Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, and Ubon Ratchathani.
