Weather in Udon ?

So did udon get the tail.end of Noul ??? If not very lucky looking at the devastation it caused passing thru isan .. Mukdahan Maha Sarakarm Roi et all battered ..and it appears here in Buriram.got off light with just localised flooding and the odd tin roof dissapearance compared to.those places.

Still rain all last night here light to steady not torrential.as previous day but non stop n still raining now and the local.river is well.up.

Bit of a damp squib as far as Udon was concerned. All the projected tracks had it passing much nearer Udon but after it made landfall in Vietnam, the ENE track became more easterly so it whacked the central provinces more.

Although the center of Noul tracked somewhere just south of Khon Kaen, the lower, southern side of the anticlockwise rotation carried all the rain. In the following screen grab from around tea time 18th, 'VTUK' is Khon Kaen airport.

"Noul was encountering some northeasterly vertical wind shear. That is, outside winds blowing from the northeast and pushing the bulk of clouds and precipitation toward the southwest of the center of circulation."

After all the cautions and warnings, the storm apparently fizzled out, at least in the Loei area. We had some rain but nothing heavy and no wind. My enlarged pond is still lower than I had hoped for.

Thats cheered me up cos dm.git splattered down here by ttyphoon Noul ... took.a while but finall.got there so seems my rain dance worked after all.
