Well hopefully as it goes over land the winds will slow. I see where they are releasing more water from the Dam's and its headed to Ayyutiya again.

30 provinces, 2m hit by floods
Published: 29 Sep 2013 at 10.38
Online news:
More than two million people in 210 districts of 30 provinces have been affected by floods since Sept 17, according to Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department chief Chatchai Promlert.
He said the flood situation in five provinces had eased.
According to a report by the water situation analysis centre of the Royal Irrigation Department, as of Sept 27 the combined volume of water in all major dams all over the country was 47,262 million cubic metres or 67% of capacity.
The dams can still take an additional 22.8 billion cubic metres of water during the rainy season.
The Royal Irrigation Department's emphasis is on the management of water at various reservoirs in line with the volumes of rainwater in each locality to keep water for use in the dry season.

Just to be on the safe side, I'm recharging all my devices now and loading up the empty space in the freezer with water jugs. Doesn't Udon get some/all of its electricity from Laos?
We've got a few dozen full-size catfish in the pond......if Udon washes away, we'll survive a few weeks.

Well, so far we are overcast, but not a drop of rain yet, and dead still. Started clouding up in Nongsamrong around 2:30 this afternoon.

Same here in Nong Khai......Cloudy, Still & NO Rain as yet !!

According to the satellite image this storm looks like a huge one. Maybe pictures are deceiving because it looks like Udon Thani should be getting hit big time about now. Since I am to the west about 150 kilometers we shouldn't see any of it for several hours yet. Being 330 meters above sea level is a comforting thought. My pond could use another meter of water without being over full. September was a good rainy month. The pond came up more than a meter.

only just arriving on Vietnam coast now. ETA udon - 3pm tuesday.

Started raining here in Nongsamrong at about 22:45. Nice moderate steady rain. If it keeps this up for 12 hours or so, it will definitely add to the water levels in the ponds/lakes.

Hi,
Why are people asking for rain. Im fed up with rain, nearly every day for the last six to eight weeks now. At least it is warm rain, and I don't have to water the garden.
Going for a trip South in a few days so I hope the rain stops. We also had a lot of rain last night.
I live inside the ring road near he airport. Coming from, old Tescos, on the ring road , lovely and sunny until I got to the airport road, then it chucked it down.

Looks like we dodged the bullet this time, fine by me. Udon is pretty ugly when it's flooded.
There are more coming though. Might even get ride in this week.
