I have been in England for 8 years. My husband is from Scotland and he works in London. We have 2 children 1 boy and 1 girl 3 years and 4 years old. I miss my family a lot and friends it can be very lonely here although I do have a lot of Thai friends. We meet up quite a lot and have parties for the kids and birthdays etc.

Do you live in London ?since your hubby is working there? I'm intetested to visit London someday ,so maybe I can ask you about how is the life in London . It seem like you still feel homesick ;eventhough, you have a lot of friends and family in England as well. I'm wonder how would I feel to be there alone without family or any friends . Well I have Tam jai leaw ka hehe. If I don't go ,I won't know. So I better go to see it by myself ,and that could be such a great experience for me I hope!

Trust you to notice that BM ;)

Welcome to the forum ban thaat yai girl, enjoy :).

By the way, you're not who I think it is that was chatting to my wife last week at the Thai food festival in Battersea Park last week by any chance??

Probably just a coincidence as I'm sure there is more than just 1 Thai in Basildon...

That was the Thai food festival at Battersea Park.
Our friends had a stall last year when the rain was much worse than this year, they did not make any money after paying for the ground rent.
I think lots of people did not bother this year.

Last year they worry about the security too much I think a lot of people not go. Also the food is not cheap, its a shame there is a lot of Thais and it is good to meet others. I know this year we were beside a lot of people who came from wales. It can be a good day out but it needs the sun to shine

Yep the rain last yeat put a downer on things but those that lasted till the security scare saw the best of the sun, turned out to be a lovely evening.

As for this year, yep it was quiet compared to other years, but it was still a fair turnout imo, but I can only blame that on the local Wandsworth council for a late announcement of the event.
