Next US Embassy Visit for Udon?
I was getting ready to go to Bangkok to visit the US Embassy to take care of a few bits of paper, and thought to ask here, when is the next consular visit scheduled for Udon Thani?
It might save some time & travel on my part, I've got a full schedule with my kids etc.

Just a reminder, two weeks from today.
Next US Embassy Visit for Udon?
Can you get a passport renewed during the Embassy vist? I was on the Bangkok Embassy web site and it says:
In Thailand, all persons, including minors, seeking a U.S. passport must appear in person at the Embassy to apply. All passport applications require appointments, with the exception of emergency passport applications.
Just curious if the visit here would count as "in-person"
If so, where can I get the forms to be prepared?

Yes you can. Just click the link shown in PG's post above and follow the instructions. Fill out the form online, print it and hand it to the embassy staff at the Outreach session. You will receive your new passport in 3 weeks.

Make sure you bring your old passport with you as you'll have to turn it in as well along with the fee.

Quick question. Where is the best place near the hotel to get an acceptable passport photo? Thanks!

I believe that they do not, if my memory of what Brit expats have said here on UM is correct. (so take at your own riskweasel wrote:what a great idea, do the Brits do the same?

Is there for a form for the Proof of Income Letter, or does one just type it up oneself?
If a form, got a link?
(I think I ask this every year ... and think it's just a statement one types up, right?)

They have the form. Just bring the money to pay for the service. And your passport.

Yes there is. Go to the following link...there are 2 choices. The second choice (online version) didn't work for me by the directions stated, but it did work by downloading the PDF file first and then filling the required info.Jed wrote:Is there for a form for the Proof of Income Letter, or does one just type it up oneself?

Many thanks everyone, especially Papa G.
Downloaded the affidavit, and it can be completed with a keyboard but it's a little tricky finding the T(ext) tool, etc.
Probably best to link to Embassy site in case the form changes:

Here's what they did with them; http://diplopundit.files.wordpress.com/ ... -17-pm.png

A lot of $$$ for sure. I don't think I've ever seen an increase like they made to add new pages into one's passport: from FREE to $82 ... I mean, what? No point messing around with anything less, eh?
