Yes I bought some packed sliced Salmon at Makro last month, but it didn't taste like the Norwegian/Atlantic smoked Salmon.

It was more like the Thai salmon dish that they sell with a bit Wasabi, unless we are taking about a different package

Searched old TESCO, no hab.
Found in TOPS, inside CENTRAL. Smoked Norwegian Salmon Trout (Sliced) 330 baht for 200g. Product of Thailand (!), had to try once.There were other smoked products in the same area at lower cost. I like smoked stuff. May try them later.

I come from coastal Washington State, never heard of Salmon Trout, there it is either Salmon or it is Trout. Steelhead is a a sea-run cut-throat trout that is akin to salmon, in Norway do they actually call Salmon "Salmon Trout"? or is it just mis-named at TOPS?

Nowegian salmon trout is not salmon but is farmed sea trout ...it is from the same migratory genus as salmon and as such is allowed to be marketed as salmon trout
Virtually no difference in texture or flavour especially if smoked
