Probably checking Covid restrictions and closing times, that is an educated guess, either that or checking up on licences.

As relayed to me. One farang individual is well known for being aggressive, started at the RED bar where a birthday party was in swing. Then got out on his bike and fired a handgun in the air and rode off. Returned a little while later where a few Thais tried unsuccessfully to knock him off his bike. More commotion at the other end of the Soi. A little while later a Thai arrived with the RTP and the place got swamped with police.
Biggish guy, strongly built, often after a fight. He nearly glassed his wife about four weeks back but was too pissed to break the bottle on a bar table then stormed off. (viewed by me in person).
Not sure about final outcome.

Well i said it before and i say it now...Alkohol..is the biggest "troublemaker# for some people.Destroy relationships, hurting them self and others..If anything i would like to vote for a sooding Mary Jane..-Yes ---- happens with that Cannabis too but in much lesser way.Have you EVER seen anyone toking and then start/pick a fight, didn't think so..And as always some people should never ever use any drug what so ever.

Any drug alcohol/cannibis even caffine has the ability to be abused if not taken in moderation
Re: what was going on in soi sampan late friday/sat morning?
Surprised the BIB from Bangkok haven't been on the scene!! I don't like the idea of a drunk farang running around with a gun.. If caught he should be deported..
Re: what was going on in soi sampan late friday/sat morning?
Everybody that works in the bars/restaurants knows who the guy is. Not hard to find.

totally agree. This guy sounds like big trouble. Deporting is too good for him, BiB should put one of his bullets in his head and be done with it.
Re: what was going on in soi sampan late friday/sat morning?
Let's see what happens. There is no secret who he is, but for obvious reasons I will not identify him here.

Beggers belief that anyone would be stupid enough to take a gun out with them in Udon ........ but to drink alcohol knowing you have a gun is taking stupidity to a whole new level.
Re: what was going on in soi sampan late friday/sat morning?
The tourist police still located near the jail??
Re: what was going on in soi sampan late friday/sat morning?
Early onset due to yaaba? I think it's probably quite pervasive in a certain farang demographic.Whistler wrote: ↑June 21, 2022, 5:03 pmNot that old Tam, I would guess under 40
Allegedly, I had my mid-life crisis in my mid/late forties. Then I discovered sky diving and Blanton's bourbon.
Anyway, back on topic, on my way from Tops to Villa, there were maybe four police pickups with red strobes on and maybe two dozen cops on Soi Sampan just after 17:00 this evening. Included a fair contingent of peaked cap officers and a hub of activity at some property between the cow shed and the 7-eleven. I noticed a bunch of them in the parking lot beside Tawan Daeng on my way to Tops about 20 minutes earlier. Lined up and looking like they were getting a briefing from a peaked capper. Looks to me they were looking for someone or maybe someone got busted?

Seems so. Else why would you advocate for a summary execution?

Omg, let's not discuss current events and answer sparicus's query. If we do it's gossip.
