Welding is a skill that takes time to learn. Read books, youtube, practice, practice, practice and you may get reasonable results. Don't give up too quickly, it will get better.

But practice on thick steel that makes burning through difficult and get some thin rods 1.6mm and 2mm , again makes burning through more difficult, also an auto darkening helmet is virtually essential.

Use Stainless Steel rods, a lot easier when welding thin box section.
