Hi all!
I am getting married in Udon Thani in November and need recommendations for the following:
- live entertainment (thai dancers, bands, karaoke)
- bakery to do a wedding cake
- tent,table, and set-up rental (something nice)
- catering
- hair/make-up
Any suggestions for any of these things? Thanks so much!
Also, Centara has been recommended as a possible resource, but I am afraid they are going to kill us price-wise! Anyone have any experience with them?

you will have to look up Boss wedding studio, maybe they may have connections for you.
I believe there is also a wedding shop at the 5 way slowest intersection in town.
also try to do a thai google search using thai script for the query, you will get thai websites and they can be translated via google translator

Boss Studio website is at http://www.weddinginlove.com/boss_studio
Meritha Studio is at http://www.weddinginlove.com/merithastudio
I'm sure there's others in town, but they appear to be two of the biggest.

You can spend a small fortune here if you are not wary of the pitfalls.
My wife and I did our wedding on a budget and family and friends (120) had a good feed and more than enough to drink, the venue was very nicely presented, flower arrangements were very good and everyone went away happy.
We were aware of the problem areas due to my wife realtives being married in the last couple of years and the stories that came back from them.
Usually you will find that the place that rents the wedding clothes ,both for the pre-wedding photo shoot and the wedding day shots, do the photography work and the hair-do and make up, not only for the bride but also her friends if the need is there.
My wife's brother was presented with a 70,000baht bill for photos from his wedding a week after the event. (no control over the photographer) You could join the pics and make a video there were so many shots !!!!
We have an album with perhaps 100 pics, a large photo and frame for the lounge, and a small book of pics from the pre-wedding shoot for about 6,000 baht.
Overall we spent maybe 70,000baht. We had budgeted originally for 90,000 and made a saving. (never really know how many people will arrive at your big day)
