I would also like a recommendation (broken iPad), but not from hearsay, that's useless for me. There are many people that might be able to repair an iPad (first floor new Tesco, telephone shop, didn't try him) but you have no clue how good those guys work until you get it back and encounter unexpected problems.
That said the official Apple service center in UD Town's third floor is closed, no longer exists, and the typical iSellers like iStudio and iBeat don't repair, they only send in to Apple. You can do this directly, so zero help.

Hi all
Kopkei when you refer to the "first floor from landmark" where do you mean? Is that in the main Robinson's building.
Thanks again

^ No. Landmark is about 2 kms away from Central. It is a, fairly, new Mall containing a complete floor of computers & a complete floor of phones. Although 90% of the shops are virtually identical to their neighbours in that odd Thai style of retail.
It is a highly visible black & white chequered building.
Villa market is on the ground floor...

Oops - I had forgot about his thread. Due to missing alternatives I took the plunge and gave that guy (landmark first floor, see above) an iPad 2 for repair. He exchanged the video screen without damaging the digitizer, so the repair bill was only 3000 Baht (otherwise 4500). Took one night, excellent work done. Unit runs for three weks now without problems.
While there I could also watch him glueing a glass front with 2 component epoxy on a phone display under ultraviolett light and such. Most probably this is the best you can get in Udon when needing phone and pad repairs.
