Does anyone know if there is such a thing and if there is ehere I can buy one ?

The heavyweight shown below isn't cheap.......you'd probably have to order from Asia Books in Central or find it online.
I've seen smaller/cheaper dictionaries ......but learning Thai was difficult enough. I never had it in me to tackle the Isaan version. Asia books may have the cheaper version in stock......if not, the girls can tell you if it's available.

I don’t think it would exist because the Thai government wants to encourage one language - Thai. The closest you may come is a Lao language dictionary.

Yes, a Thai-Lao dictionary will suffice.

I have seen reference to a Thai-Lao-English dictionary which would probably more acceptable to the Government.
I'm trying to avoid having to learn Lao script to get a grip with Issan.

If you know Thai script. you will pick up Lao writing easily. I first did it by looking at destinations on the front of the bus in the first instance. Once I could read Lao, I tried writing it.

many moons ago I managed to get hold of an English-Lao phrase book(Berlitz, I think) from "Asia Books" Seemed close enough, and cause of much merriment in the local watering holes. e.g :"Hong Suam yoo sai?"Where's the loo?

Isaan is no more a language than Tex-Mex is.

There are speech to speech translators as well as speech to text and text to text available on purpose made hand held devices($50-$60) or as applications for Apple phones etc. with the applications fairly cheap.($5-$10)

I tried to track down a copy of the English -Issan dictionary Parrot referred too..no have.. ISBN..no have..not in print, must only be in the odd library or museum..
and yes I have just purchased some new hand held gadget speech to speech Thai English, off the net..waiting for it to arrive, to see if I can have a conversation with our thai teenage boy..oyii ruddy teenagers
