I do not miss that much but some of the niceties, like
Heating when cold
Choice of Good affordable wine
Choice of GOOD affordable beef and some other meat products.
Apart from that nothing else really,
if I listed everything that I missed ......in as not having it anymore due to differences in Culture and lifestyle......, i would move back to Blighty.

Ice Hockey, Speedway.

Getting soaked in the morning between house and bus stop, squeezing onto the bus with 50 or 60 others (all wet and all standing). Getting off the bus and running the 100 yds or so to the train station (with everyone else) getting soaked again. Waiting on platform for 10 mins with everyone else untill the train arrives. Squeezing on the train (if you are lucky), and being squashed up against either the door or other people 30 mins, whilst miraculously another 20 people manage to force their way on. Finally being pushed off the train as 1500 people all try to catch the underground train on the adjacent platform. Swearing at the driver of said underground train as he closes the doors a split second before the first person has made it, and leaves with an almost empty train
Getting pushed (almost carried) onto the next underground train and spending the next 20 mins or so counting the stations that you stop at (no chance of actually seeing out of a window). Reading those stupid "Poems for the underground" or religious rubbish that always seem to be in front of you when you travel by tube, even though you read the same stuff yesterday & the day before.
Fighting your way out of the tube when you get to the right stop. Realising that all the wet sweaty bodies on the train have somehow managed to dry you off. Making your way up the escalator to ground level, only to find that your ticket won't work in the machine, so you have to go back to the ticket collector who then waves you through (along with 20 or 30 others, most of whom have not actually paid for a ticket). Getting out to the street, realising it's still p*ssing down, and that you left your brolly somewhere on the train. Getting soaked through on the way to the office, and in a great mood for a really good days work. As you walk in PA tells you one of your staff has "Phoned in sick", and that you have a meeting to attend 200 miles away.

Don't know how I'm getting through life without it really

Ahh yes but Traffic light camera's and Speed cameras have already been introduced in parts of Thailand...given time (and more like the availabilty of funds) you will see more out on the roads......and a point system is also running.

Knowing the guy that is tailgating you at 90mph has brakes that work, and is concentrating on the road and your brakes lights rather than his mobile phone or his hairstyle #-o

Going into B&Q or Homebase, and being allowed to look around without someone hovering behind your shoulder, and following you up & down the aisle.

Getting my "cold" items put in the same bag as each other, and not having the loose salad in the same bag as the rat poison or toilet blocks

Knowing that I can concentrate fully on the oncoming traffic when turning out of a side road without having to check to see if there are any cars or bikes comeing from the wrong direction.

Being able to "deck" anyone who drives round at 6.30am with loud speakers on full blast, and not having to smile and "save face".

Not a lot! I think many men in a similar situation to the one I was in would swap the supposed 'comforts' of home for a life out here.
Roast potatoes (appreciate I could rectify that), the humour/togetherness of following your team.
Most of all, that everyone speaks English and faced with e.g. an administrative chore, there's a good chance you understand what's going on. :?
