That was the day that George Bush and Dick Cheney conspired with terrorists to simulate destruction of the WTC towers in NYC. The towers actually came down through carefully placed explosives on the supporting beams of the structures. It was all carefully coordinated and some say that terrorists actually called Bush from cell phones to makes sure that the charges were detonated at the precise time.

There was also a missile launched into the Pentagon. That wasn't really a plane.

All jokes aside, I remember it like it was yesterday, and I will never ever forget it.

Me too, was in Phucket with a little Cutie having dinner and saw the smoke and flames from the first building on TV. As there was no sound I assumed it was a Movie and thought little of it. When we left we walked past several Bars and thought it strange that the picture was the same and lots of people were standing around deep in conversation. When we got to my mates Bar he told me what was going on and I thought he was joking. Honest, 5 minutes later I watched the second one go in :yikes: I went cold at first, but as they started to reveal Terrorists etc I became angry and about 20 of us had the best night getting drunk and killing Muslims ever  Next morning walking down Bangla road there were at least six busses ferrying rag heads out of town 8) Yep, I wont forget that night ever [-X

Unfortunately it's one of those events that if you witnessed it live via the media, it's indelibly printed in your memory.

What I remember most was the many Muslims of my Bangkok neighborhood coming to me to apologize for what happened. The shame they felt about Muslims being involved was sincere and spontaneous!
Watching the replays of the events was like watching a movie!

O/T to answer your question is NO and also Afghanistan was NOT responsible for 9 /11
if & I say if the 9/11 commission is correct why aren't we in Saudi Arabia kicking some laurels
because it is my understanding the sky jackers were from Saudi Arabia but I also know GWB & the Bush Family all have ties to the Prince Now to answer the question I was a sleep in my home in Arizona
at the time we were 3 hours behind N.Y. time so that made it 6 AM I was woken by a phone call from a friend in California who is a very early riser and told me to turn on the TV which I did and I was
Horrified at what I saw at first I thought it was accident then when I saw the replay of the second plane I knew it was no accident now mind you what I saw was all replays I did not see the actual event
I do not believe the Muslim world is responsible for 9/11 they may be guilty of other terrorist acts
but 9/11 is not one of them

I was at work in UK....one of my staff came up to me & said something terrible is happening in New York to the twin towers - she had only just returned from visiting NY (& the towers) the week before with her husband.
Eventually got home and saw it on Sky News, scary and unbelievable for certain.
Few days of problems (we were flying parts from all over the world - and air traffic stopped & them was unreliable for quite a while) and concerns as work mates from our parent company had been lost in the towers - thankfully very few though.
The shots of the second plane flying directly into the tower will certainly remain with me for ever though....

I was in the middle of a company transfer from Ohio to Nevada, and had returned to Ohio to close out my previous assignment. I was scheduled to go to my previous place of work, a secure government nuclear facility, on September 11th. Of course the entire facility had been put on lock down and even I, as the former manager, was told to stay away. I had a flight back to Nevada scheduled for 9/12. Naturally all flights were canceled for a few days, so I watched the tragedy and the aftermath on TV, feeling helpless. The next day I got into the facility which was still heavily guarded and transacted my business.

When flights were resumed a few days later, i was on one of the first flights to leave Cincinnati airport. The flight was about half full, and all the passengers were eying each other up, as was I. As we taxied to the runway, the pilot gave a speech i will never forget.

"Ladies and gentlemen thank you for flying with us today. We are now entering a new era of aviation, and you people flying with us today are truly heroes. I want to assure you that the entire crew and myself are fully prepared to do whatever is necessary to keep you safe. God Bless America."

I took that to mean that he and the crew were armed, and no muslin terrorist would stand a chance. The passengers all broke out in applause.

As usual, adversity tends to bring out the best in people, and the worst in others. As witness the low down pond scum that used this tragedy to advance their political agenda and tried to blame the 911 events on the President. It is unfortunate that they have gotten even a minuscule number of gullible fools to believe them (including, sadly, some posters on this forum).

I was not aware of any time limit on the postings. I was writing on my impressions of the whole tragedy. It had a great impact on me personally, since I've been in the WTC and had relatives that used to work there. By "gullible fool" I believe that anyone who thinks that Bush and the Israelis could have wired that building with explosives without scores of people knowing about it .... well that pretty much fits the definition of a gullible fool. That's my opinion, and If you feel insulted by it, that's your problem.

I watched events 'live' on TV, aghast. I think the true horror of the day is when i saw the first building collapse, i think that was the most shocking, jaw dropping moment, in my entire life. It was all horrendous, just unbelievable. Also, the 'jumpers', that is so so sad, i still can't watch tv documentaries on the awful individual human stories, often with the poor souls last mobile phone calls to loved ones.

Seeing George Bush being told of the incident, and his shocked reaction, well just shocked i suppose is memorable! It is sad that the affair led to chasing the wrong person, and going into Iraq. But whatever, the thousands of people who perished in the dreadful cowardly attack, should never ever be forgotten.

I was working in T1 Heathrow installing new road lights on the apron (runway area) when we got the message about
a plane crash in NY. We made our way the the departure lounge where people were standing around starring at the TV monitors in a stunned silence. It seemed like the whole place had come to a standstill, with everyone from
cleaners, passengers, check-in staff, cabin crews etc all watching the event unfold. Eventually Heathrow management shut down all the TV monitors and we went about our business.
The attack had a massive impact on air travel and several major projects at Heathrow were delayed or cancelled which led to an uncertain 12 months for yours truely.

I remember the story about the last aircraft that crashed in a field outside Pittsburgh. The passengers realised that they weren't going to get out alive bit decided to take the hijackers on anyway, causing the aircraft to crash. That to me was an example of real courage.

As I said on the previous topic on this, I was walking around a supermarket (Superquinn) and my then girlfriend rang me and told me that a plane had flown into the World Trade Centre. I thought it was a Cessna on a training flight. I went home and it was all over SKY News.

I thought the movie United 93 was a good account of that day and Paul Greengrass did a good job of portraying what happened on board the flight that crashed near Shanksville.

A horrible day and God rest the souls of all those that died.

Was at work...just got back in the office someone heard something on the radio news...turned on the Tv...we was glued to the screen for 3 hours, then went home and i was constantly switching channels for an hour or so getting more and more views of it, to this day it is still a shocking vid to watch when those planes hit 1 after another and the aftermath, I often imagine what it must of been like to have been in one of those planes or in one of the towers on that terrible day.
