OT came across this bit of advise on msn today:
A hair-of-the-dog drink may seem like a good idea when you wake up hurting. But resist the temptation. Jessica Shapiro, MS, RD, a dietitian at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY says, “Hangover symptoms occur when alcohol is exiting the body, so if you put more alcohol into your system, you’re just delaying the inevitable—unless you plan to stay permanently drunk.” And if that’s the plan, it’s time to phone AA, stat. Otherwise, try the options provided here.
I thought, what-a-load-of-bollocks. Hair of the dog does not mean you remain drunk. Unless you have more than one of course.

OT's never put himself in so much danger as he did yesterday afternoon. Here's what happened. Just a normal sunday, I was watching movies, reading books and tinkering around on the internet and a WFB, I had the patio doors open and heard screaming, not a child or a woman, but a man. I don't understand the local language so I asked the WFB what's going on? Mob justice, they are going to execute him. WHAT? WHAT FOR? he's a thief.I then run as fast as i could out of the compound and into this bunch of guys who were beating the thief. There was about 20 guys punishing the thief and 50 spectators. My Nigerian neighbour stood by my side. I have never been so stupid in all my life, I wanted to save the thief. I told the guys, please don't kill him. In fact I begged them. they told me I was a stupid American and I should understand how things work in Africa. I'm not American, I kept that to myself.Anyway, the thief escaped, although very injured.Later on that day I had to turn the WFB's car around in the compound as it had been cleaned and she can't drive for a toffee. Whilst in the compound I asked security if I had caused a problem. He said I had saved the thiefs life.
It's still madness though.

That's what happened to OT, I am not a liar. I wouldn't say, like you have Mark, that I am a sad little man, ask the many people in Udon that know me. One other thing, I've never heard you do anything else other than comment on other peoples posts, have you got a life? Doubt it.

I was thinking how I could portray myself any better. Then I watched Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globe awards. I knew I was beaten before he opened his mouth. So did all the A list celebs who were hoping he didn't mention them.

Let's get on with things here, Yesterday OT went to a swimming pool party at a CEO's place, the CTO, Head of procurement and some project managers were there also, together with a few WFB's in their bikinis. Top wine, Top Cigars, and OT puked up as usual. Not in the toilet either.
Just another day in OT's chaos.
It's just gone 8 here, I hope I can sort it out by 7 this evening.

I was thinking about the habits of Thai pedestrians and Thai drivers, so I have some points to make with follow-up questions here. My wife and I walk around Nong Bua Lake most evenings. There is a 2 kilometer asphalt walk around the lake, and one will see walkers/joggers going both clockwise and counterclockwise on the track. When we come upon a Thai that is coming toward us in the opposite direction, they seem to be very perplexed about which side of the walk they should be on. It's my understanding that most pedestrians will follow the same rules for walking in public places that one does for driving, so always walk and drive to the left of the oncoming in Thailand. Why is this such a difficult thing for a Thai to figure out? My wife and I stay to the left of the walk and the approaching walkers/joggers refuse to yield and we're the ones that wind up having to move to the wrong side or even off in the grass to avoid a human collison. WTF is wrong with these buggers? And it's not just one or two but the majority of people that we encounter. I've noticed the same thing when walking down a sidewalk or through a shopping mall. It's like trying to navigate through Thai traffic. They drive and walk with the same confused mind. So what is it...are they confused, ignorant, stupid, selfish, discourteous, ill-mannered, indifferent, totally brain dead...or a combination of all of these? And what's up with people who will come at you from an angle and traverse right in front of you as you're walking...and never slow down to yield, never say excuse me and never make eye contact...just keep walking and you have to suddenly stop your pace to avoid a head on collision because they're not about to stop or get out of your way. Do you also see the correlation between walking habits and driving habits for the Thai? And what about Thai dogs walking in the street. Do they not act just exactly like a Thai pedestrian...dart right in front of your car or lay right in the road and make you go around them. Do the people mimick their dogs, or is it vice versa? I would really appreciate hearing some feedback. Is it just me or do you experience the same irritating thing on a regular basis, and what's your opinion on the matter? And please...if I hear "this is Thailand...get over it" one more time I'm going to pull my hair out. That's nothing but a copout! Please put some serious thought into this.

Cheers!

No, they are not none of these. I run around nong prajack. Sometimes i get confused, normally when I have a lot on my mind and a belly full of beer from the night before. I don't care if I was on the right track or even going the right direction. The runninig track at nong prajack points you anticlockwise, which is unusaul.

Just given it some serious thought as requested. Come to the conclusion it ain't worth worrying about, Been here in Udon nearly ten years and the occassional pedestrian collision I've had, its been the Thai come off worse. I'm not a big guy , just 80k but most of the Thais are much lighter and its fun to see them bounce .

Having given it serious thought, I wonder what the difference is between here and anywhere else. Been pushed/jostled/barged so many times walking in London/Paris/Frankfurt/Istanbul/Rome etc etc.
I even heard that they tried to instigate a system of "lanes" on the pavenment in Oxford St (London) this year. They put tape on the pavenment (sidewalk/broadwalk or whatever) to try to keep slow and fast moving pedestrians away from each other ........ not suprisingly it was a total failure.

I've got 3 or 4 things to say today, let's start with the first one. I was thinking ? leadership is important. don't talk like a lawyer in court. we can easily remove the fools. say what you think, this is the I was thinking network.

Gaddaffi seems to have made a bit of a mess of things. I'ts just as well the hybrid motors, and even fully electric cars are available. OT was thinking, the western world has been almighty but dependant. It's high time to see the demise of oil dependecy. I was thinking of getting a pirus, but i didn't want to look a pr1ck. A beemer running on cherryaid (4 star) looks better.

OT's got it, March, is the only thing you can do. the rest of the months are rubbish. What does any of the other month mean. Tell your wife"i'm off out for a July", she'll kick you in the b0ll0ks, tell her your going out for a March she'll pat you on the back.

Could it be you walk close to the lake - on the side of the lane facing the lake ;)
The runner will also want to be close to the lake, if only for shortening the jogging distance marginally.

Joke of the Year

One day in the future, Barack Obama has a heart-attack and dies.
He immediately goes to hell,
where the devil is waiting for him.
"I don't know what to do here," says the devil. "You are on my list, but I have no room for you.
You definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got a couple of folks here who weren't quite as bad as you.
I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves."

Obama thought that sounded pretty good, so the devil opened the door to the first room.

In it was Ted Kennedy and a
large pool of water. Ted kept
diving in, and surfacing, empty handed. Over, and over, and over he dived in and surfaced with nothing. Such was his fate in hell.

"No," Obama said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer, and I don't think I could do that all day long."

The devil led him to the door of the next room.

In it was Al Gore with a sledge- hammer and a room full of rocks.
All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time.

"No, this is no good; I've got
this problem with my shoulder.
I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day," commented Obama.

The devil opened a third door.
Through it, Obama saw Bill
Clinton, lying on the bed, his
arms tied over his head, and his legs restrained in a spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best.

Obama looked at this in shocked disbelief, and finally said, "Yeah man, I can handle this."

The devil smiled and said...........

(This is priceless...)

"OK, Monica, you're free to go."

WWW: 20 years ago we would not have a clue what it was, now the world wide web is used by everyone except John McCaine, We can get the latest first rate information at the tip of our fingers, well index fingers if your OT. We can get breaking news and look at a thai WFB naked via the WWW. We can even talk a load of b0ll0cks and the entire population of the world that can get on line will be able to read what we have said.
I was thinking, forget about Amazing Thialand, think about what rubbish you're putting out there.
