The plant is advertised as starting project Q1 2024, the build has been going on before that. You say plagued with problems, it is a pilot site, I am happy to see such sites work through any teething problems without be alarmist

Well Sporty I have worked on loads of projects and one person holding it up better know his sh-t. The other thing is that I have yet to see ONE PESON hold up a multi million dollar project. Lastly after over 40 years of projects I have never seen one that was on time. The worst was over 12 years behind schedule
Well my mate has done it and he knows this work like the back of his hand. They just never took his advice and it ended up a clusterfXXk.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that. "I told you so"
So turn the cheek and think of how much money he will make

Is your "mate" perchance a keen fisherman like your good self, Sport?

Sport,

I just re-read the thread and curious. You describe the project your mate is working on as a small hydro pilot. The Boliver project is not a hydro project at all. It a green hydrogen pilot project, a completely different thing. There was a small hydro pilot abandoned in SA, not because of engineering problems, but some commercial difficulties, are you mixing the two?

If this is the one he is talking about (he still hasnt released any info yet) then a $12.5 AU Million is peanuts (we used to spend that and more on coffee supplies for one project we had )

So long fellas time to waste more of my time on other useless subjects

Fortunately, Sport's mate wasn't working on this one. :D
Australia's largest hydrogen electrolyser manufacturing facility opens in central Queensland

- The first stage of a wider Green Energy Manufacturing Centre has opened in Gladstone.
- The Gladstone Electrolyser Facility splits water into its component parts to produce green energy without using fossil fuels.

Doodoo, is research and pilot plants a waste of time?

This pilot is seeing if a new variation on electrolysis is viable. As the technology is improving costs have dropped from over three dollars a kilo to.produce, to below $ 1.70. This pilot is just that and an interesting one too.

Bugger me, loads of lurching off-topic and down rabbit holes this morning, no?

I reckon it went off topic when the forum's favourite fisherman posted nonsense about something he has no clue about on the previous page.

TAM,

I Hear You Brother

I have met the guy and he is fine, just very different when on the forum, a couple of years ago when you were in full flight, somebody I met said the same thing about you.

Not one bit. When I first started posting 5 years ago, whatever I posted was greeted with absolute aggression. My attitude? I give back in spades and no apology for taking that stance.

My other viewpoint, if I see a post that is an opinion that is not back by facts, I have no problem digging out verifiable facts to support a consensus view as opposed to a simplistic opinion.. Your posts on a healthy Barrier Reef are a case in point.

Now that does not go down well with some including yourself, but post rubbish in the face of the facts, don't be surprised to get shot down in flames.
