Sorry, just a bit of self indulgence. Check out the low flying Spitfire in this video.

Nice one Westerby. This has always been the problem when taking off in this type of plane. You have absolutely no view of the ground in front of you because of the climb angle, until you level off. Could have been serious.Lucky guy.

Here's a crazy fool doing the same thing in a Royal Air Force F4 Phantom. Not sure of the Station.

Oh! Did I forget to mention......

The four builders are shown in the image above. Colin Straus, the owner, is at the nose of the aircraft.
This 1/9th scale radio-controlled C-17 model was built in the United Kingdom . It was built as the centerpiece of a 15 program television series produced in the U.K. for the Home and Leisure satellite TV channel.

Built with the aid of three friends, it took one year to build and is powered with 4 Jetcat P-120 turbines with a total thrust of 108 lbs.

The model weighs over 250 lbs fueled, and carries 12.5 liters (3.3 US gallons) of 95% kerosene and 5% turbine oil fuel.

Other details include 5 Futaba PCM receivers, 16 battery packs (93 cells ), 20 Futaba servos, on board air compressor, electro/pneumatic retracts, etc. Wingspan is 20 feet 8 inches, and the top of the fin is 74 inches (6 feet 2 inches) above the ground. Takeoff weight is 264 lbs.

The rear cargo doors open and they drop an r/c jeep on a pallet, as well as 2 free-fall r/c parachutists.

The model also has smoke systems both of the inboard turbines, and uses a 2.4 GHz data link to provide real-time data to a
laptop computer on the ground while in flight. This data includes airspeed, turbine RPM, EGT, fuel consumption, etc. Built mainly
from balsa and plywood, with many glass and carbon fiber moldings to reduce weight. It is covered in fiberglass and epoxy resin.

This C-17 Globe Master III is one of the largest jet models in the world today!

Complete with retractable landing gear and pneumatically operated flaps.

Great project to get your teeth into, I've always had respect for chaps that put something like this together.

Wow...fantastic models, had me fooled when i looked at the pics, that 747 looks good too., bet they would be gutted if they crashed upon landing and it flipped 10 times and broke into 1253 peices though.. :(

When I was just a pup getting started in my aviation career in Las Vegas, I would occasionally rent a plane and fly over to Furnace Creek Inn for lunch. the Airport is below sea level so thats the lowest I ever flew. More inspiring was flying in the Grand Canyon which was still allowed in the early 60's. My good friend Charlie liked to put the "wheels on the water" anytime he and his Pacer were near a lake. Someone sent me a picture of some T6's "water skiing" (on the net somewhere) but I think Charlie thought of it first.

Singapore airline's were collecting a new boeing 777-E400 twin engine wide body. All head honcho's from singapore airlines, their chief pilot was captain,he is highly respected in the industry. After takeoff he did a wide sweeping turn and flew the aircraft past the hanger at 300 knot's 500ft above ground, you can see boeing staff cheering, plane is below roof level of hanger, what a piece of flying with a comerical jet.
I would love to provide link but i don't know how to do,it was on you tube,it is a amazeing piece of flying and worth a search to see.Pilot is british, best of. =D> =D> =D> =D>
