Help with biography of a Buddhist ajahn

Post by luangtom » February 18, 2012, 4:23 am

I did not know where to post this, so it is here I did. Here goes....

Does anyone from Udon Thani or Nong Khai know of or know the biography of Phra Khru Anaviro Bounthong Vipraxany of Wat Sri Vattanaram near Vietiane, Laos? I believe it is located in Nong Douang, Amphoe Sikhotabong, Vientiane Lao PDR. He is said to be an arahant.

I was gifted with takrut and sai-sin from him by a Lao friend that just returned from a visit there.

Chok dee.

Any chance you can spell the name in Thai (or Lao)?

Sorry. no. My wife cannot read or write Thai. Two years of Isaan school in the late 50's. English, reads and writes it. I also do not have Thai-script on my PC. I copied the name and temple verbatum from the business-card our Lao friend got from the ajahn.

Can you take a reasonable digital photo of it and post it or pm it to me?

I do not have the business-card. I read it and copied in her Asian Market about 50-miles from us. There is no Lao-script on it, nor Thai. It is written in English. He has a "sister-wat" in MN, USA, if that is any help. He gave her the English-text card due to so many young Lao people here not reading or writing their parents' native language.
