DUI Check Point

Post by bigsnake » June 9, 2013, 10:07 am

Seem the Police are conducting more DUI Check points as of late<>near Center Point and other late night drinking places. Your Truly got stop two times on Friday Night just after midnight<>blew a PREFECT ZERO<>just checking out the streetwalkers no drinking for this old Thailand Hand, does NOTHING for the old Blood Pressure. Anyway great to see they are trying to curb drinking and driving. BTW on Saturday Night just pass midnight while having a little snack at McDonald UD Town I heard a crash<>yes you guess it a Drunk loss control of her Honda Jazz while trying to make the left turn toward Nong Bua Market<>hit the concrete barriers<>lucky all no one was hurt, including her, just a little wake-up call for her. After bystanders flip the car right side up she was able to crawl out under hurt.

DUI check points will be become more frequent as they realize what a great cash cow it is, forget helmets. Over Songran I got done at the intersection in Phen of all places, I was just over, he wanted 500, all I had was a thousand, he had no change........

Mrs tamada witnessed a booze check on the east ring road last Thursday night while coming home on her crotch rocket. Imprecise location but knowing her route, most likely just south of the HomePro u-turn so that the dodgy dodgers have few options to cut across the back way?

DUI Check Point

The alcohol checkpoints are a real pain in the ass for those of us that can drink but would have BAC over the limit easily because of weight. At least they seem to being targeting all and not just farangs. Max for me would be about 2 beer lek per hour and I wouldn't bet on that after several hours. Anybody know what the BAC limit is? While certainly not drunk or impaired (no, I'm not getting into an argument about impaired) but more than likely over the legal limit, I bluffed my way through the one on 216 past newer Big C twice in the last month or so. I now go a different route. Drinking or not, I'll be damned if I put my mouth on that filthy instrument they keep trying to stick in my face.

When going through the DUI section at New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy my fellow classmates got a good laugh when I couldn't do the roadside balance, say alphabet backwards, stand on one foot and touch nose test. My stateside attorney told me that if I had had even one beer all day to never admit to it and if I had the slightest doubt to always refuse a breath test, they can be doctored.

The filthy instrument you say they shove in your face is not for your mouth but for you to blow at without it touching your lips, only if that indicates alcohol on your breath will you be required to take the breath test.
The answer is Stay Safe & simply Dont Drink & Drive.

While it is true that BT machines can be doctored to read higher than they should a survey not that long ago showed that almost 50% of Thai police BT machines were faulty. Not that that would help anyone caught but it is sibering thought ( no pun intended0 so anyone with half a brain should never drink and drive, here there is NO RECOURSE to a blood smaple if you blow positive you are done, dusted and poorer by a considerable amount. So the moral is with the police corruption and there pechant for those with cash. Don't drink and drive and your cash is safe .
Quite somple really, unfortunately there are those that think ( or should I say not think at all ) that they are better then the BIB. There not all stupid Thai Police you know might be a tad slow on some things but others they can be good.

Apparently not so simple . A lightning strike took out the complete control system and a it has been sent for repair to the manufacturers in Bangkok .Expected back end of September.

This is a joke! New year eve, I went to the shop/cafe we have.
There was a Police check almost opposite.
Me being a Master Piss artist, got scared of the thought being nabbed,
Got worried. But She said No ploblem"The police they're
all pissed."
Bought load of Lao Khow from her shop, and covered up at the rear of the stop point
All the time I was there, they never stopped anyone!
Also,at major check point at traffic lights Nong sam rong.
Never see anyone stopped.
