China Visa

Post by hermajesty » July 10, 2013, 4:26 pm

We are thinking of traveling to China this year. I have some questions regarding the visa requirement for us upstanding US citizens.

The requirement to apply for the visa is a return air ticket and a hotel reservation. Is there any way to avoid booking tickets and a hotel room until AFTER the visas are approved (or not approved!)?

Also, is there an agent here in Udon through which we can apply for our visa?

Thanks
HM

I believe there is a Chinese Consulate in Khon Kaen who can issue Tourist Visa's to visit China. Don't know how you can get around the return air ticket and pre-booked hotel requirement. Might want to give the consulate in KK a call.
What happens if you get scared half to death twice?

I am a Brit in the process of going to China, went last week to get my visa & came away with nothing, as did 3 others around me, have to go again later this month. As for being American, they really do not like you, you will have to do twice as much paperwork than anyone else, provide twice as many photos than anyone else & pay 5 times more than anyone else. Do it through an Agent in BKK or go to Bali as I did earlier this year, they like Americans there.
