Free food for advertising businesses

Do not see the need that I would have to post something like this as I find it totally offensive if someone thinks that way or is mentioning it to the mods,maybe some new members or old ones do that,never myself,what a load of twoddle

Strange maybe will have to put a disclaimer at the end of every post on food from now on,that it is all paid for and not on credit

There are some crackpots on here

Would nt take it too heart Pomps ,,,,,,,,, there are some strange folks out there ... the amount of different venues you promote and support here in Udon if you were on freebies you would be 200 kgs ,,,hahah ,, obviously a person who doesnt know who or has an axe to grind ....... hope the mods see thru it as just a snipe by some one who is jealous of your good looks , motor and imense wealth HAHAHAHHA ...

Besides which, if someone would like you to try a new product or test an old one and gives it to you as a freebie, that is nobodies business but the parties involved. As long as your review is truthful and unbiased, how you came about the product is, as you say, poppycock! Knowing you, I SERIOUSLY doubt that a 60 (or even 600) baht freebie would make you say how wonderful it was when it was crap! Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously does not know you and has no clue how to be fair and impartial in their own right.

Some people will always find something that makes them unhappy and/or suspicious. I have learned, especially here in Thailand, to just totally discount the opinions of that type of individual.

I, for one, look forward to your reviews, as we definitely have the same tastes in some products. Whether you got that product free or paid for it makes absolutely no difference to me.

Have sent a pm to udonmap for thread to be locked and be kept on forum so that the suggestion that maybe I do advertising for free food is there for all to see,poppycock

Paid all restaurant bills,massage parlours,bellringing realtime no delays or influence required

Good idea Pomps .... that way the sad person who reported you wont get a hard on over doing so ,,, i reckon the person who thought you get freebies for advertising should have had large enuff balls to say so using theur username on the open forum rather than a stab thru the mods ,,,,just a thought .

I hope this whole unsavoury episode wnt put you off your stride for todays exersions in Bangers !!

For now, we're going to leave this thread open. If it gets to the point at which it becomes troublesome (i.e., inappropriate, rude or otherwise offensive posts), it will be removed. I have no information which suggests to me that Pompui receives free food in exchange for touting eating establishments, despite some suggestions to me along those lines. Those suggestions were conveyed to me as suspicions and were unsupported. For that reason I did not publicize them. I conveyed them privately to Pompui and respond now only after he has outed them..

I agree , nowt wrong with this thread at the mo but that could change ,, well worded by udonmap above ....

Any one who knows Pomps will automatically know this is just BS ,, false claims made by who ever for whatever reason . A great supporter of many businesses in Udon he just gives his honest opinion and reviews places as he sees them .. now the only problem i see is if he actually promotes a business that is not an UM sponsor on a regular basis ,,, this could be a tadge off the straight n narrow ... im pretty sure hes aware of that and that he has quite enuff cash to pay his way ,,cheap charlie he certainly is not just ask most of the places he uses around town ,,, he just loves to ring the bell and leave huge tips !!!!! .....

Why is this such a controversial subject? We've never been asked for free food in exchange for a review, nor have we offered, but I don't see it as such a taboo practice. "Trade" for services in the business world occurs daily, in a wide variety of businesses. Movie critics get private viewings of new releases along with a nice free buffet and cocktails, and the list is endless. Personally, I don't see that a free meal would necessarily guarantee a good review. Just my opinion.
