Fellow gear-heads unite as i would like to know if there is anywhere I can get a repair manual for the local motorcycles? I understand the many different models but if I can get my hands on the basic manual I can take it from there. My brother in-law had a motorcycle repair shop somewhere in Udon until so yaa-baa head broke in and stole his tools but I believe he is back on his feet again, I'll find out in a few weeks for myself. Now if I can find a good VW Bug well.....the local youth and police well hate me soon enough.
I have an insatiable need to repair/hot rod any kind fun ride I own. I can leave the family car/motorcycle alone but my toy is another story This also goes for house wiring and water pump systems once my pluming skills improve

I'm gear head as well, but have little to no luck as far as English written manual availability, but this site is OK and does link to sites with most of the manuals for bikes here Thailand in PDF format. At least the diagrams are good and you can zoom in to see what goes where, but not much on tolerances , and such.

http://www.aphonda.co.th/honda2006/tech ... index.html These are Honda PDF's, just an example, and mostly only service type manuals. There is a forum on this site that may be more helpful.

Motasi are you in LOS now if so I owe you you a round of JW Black Label This is perfect as I can get the TW or brother in-law to translate the text. I'll be there in 6 days and the hunt will be on for a good candidate to be modified. I'll also be looking for that LHD VW Bug there in Udon somewhere [-o<
Thai_1, how did you know I like JW black? Very cool, and I appreciate the gesture, but no worries. Us motor-heads are supposed to help out each other. I am a bike enthusiasts anyways, and always trying to find motorcycle stuff here, in LOS. The best thing I have ever found here, is all the Thai bike magazines, full of sites and info. Udon has so little to offer as far as fabrication and skilled workers. There is a handful, but to get quality work done, especially in a timely manner, is like deciding if one should probe one's self for prostrate cancer, of which might be more enjoyable than waiting to get stuff done. Maybe I am just anal about quality parts. In addition, most fab stuff here is normally three to fours times more expensive than other major cities in LOS.
I have a residence in Udon, and here about 6-7 weeks at a time, then break for BKK, on biz, then Pattaya or surrounding areas, to see how much trouble I can get out off, then back in Udon. Schedule changes all the time.
Laos (Vientiane) is a cool place for VW's and mint condition, or not, old school Mini's if your into those as well.
Here's another cool Thai bike (fabrication and powder-coat for big bore bikes) site.

I am sure they would powder-coat V-dub parts. There is a powder-coat shop in Udon, but horrible quality. Udon is coming about in some manufacturing and fab stuff but the mentality here is sloooooooooooooooow, to say the least, kindly.

Hi T1O,
I have several Honda parts books, I find them more useful for full strip downs as the diagrams will list everything in the order they are fitted, as well as order numbers from Honda.
I can email copies to you if you wish... let me know which model you decide on as your project.
Also, I found Udon somewhat lacking in the 'tuning parts' availability... (which is why I base my biz in Bkk).
If there's anything you need send up from Bangers, let me know here or on the other channel.
Have fun... Ride it like you stole it na!
