Patient skips ?town?
Most sellers of health ins get a fairly large commission, now I agree off the topic, but when I came here i was concerned when health ins stopped, at what age, So I made enquires and lo and behold most stop at 65-70 years old, some do go on a bit but when you need it it might not pay up.
So I looked at BUPA and they will cover you until you die, BUT you have to have 5 or more years continious ins with them before 60 or 65 I cannot remember. cost would rise but peace of mind is better . You cannot put price on health, also agents get paid but not a lot, BUPA is good and probably one of the longest serving health Ins in Thailand.

I have to laugh about tourist police cracking down on expats my response to them is suck my wally woop them and the reg police are corrupt I have no respect for thai police since my accident
I lost my respect when they tried to get my wife to sign a release for 3000 baht and when she refused they told her they wanted my passport that when I got evolved I told them I will not surrender my passport to any of them they have to shoot me to get it I also told them my passport is the property of the U.S.A. and that I am not to surrender it to any one other than immigration authorities and I will die following that rule that when they back off and now they think I am crazy & I am happy they think that I like to be look at as a nut job it keeps phonies and schyster away from me

Check the ThaiVisa Forum. Their insurance arm (with AXA connections - I think) is doing deals for older expats.mortiboy wrote:I am 66! Is there no hope for me for health insurance? At any price?

ron, before i met you i thought you was a bit of a nutter , reading all your posts. now i read your rants about thai authority and i have a chuckle to myself. its like your lifes mission to right all the authoritarian wrongs, you must of been a handful when you was younger and drinking . one things for sure , you will never let the b~stards grind you down ah.
Quite right thanks for renewing my memory, 5 yrs before your 60th birthday, then BUPA will cover you until you die. ( U pay of course).
As for other ins I have not looked, some banks offer money back if you are in hopsital, Thai social security payments give you access to here Wattana, for some 30 baht treatment and discount on rooms and ops.
That is an option you can look at, pay for wife and family too, cheaper than some ins coy's wether you have company or not can do.
many western countries waking up to the fact no tax, or social security paid, no health cover.
Anyway if you are really ill do you want to fly for about 11 hours and WILL the airlines let you fly??

the kid that hit me father paid the BIB to get them to get my wife to close the case / they offered her 3k in thai baht / my hospital bill was 3 k + in USD / did they think we are fools or scared of them / this is one American that does not get scared & runs / I will stand against them azz holes any time / they feared us getting a lawyer / so guess what I hired a lawyer / you know Wizard
all this could have been avoided if the little pri/ck had lights turned on his M/B / so you think by extending the life of a battery for extra six months is worth a human life / if my wife was on the M/B when it got hit she would be DEAD today / this is off topic for this section of the post please excuse me since I was asked a question

I have been informed , True or not I have no idea, that the originals subject of this posts VERY Large friend, has been deported back to the UK to await HM's pleasure
it seems has been a touch naughty. The Imm police did the deed, so the miscreant who ran form the hospital is now alone apart from his brother.

whittler wrote:Hi guys, I have a dumb question. In one of the posts, they refered to all of the "expat trash" aren"t falang's that live in Thailand called expats ? I don't live there yet, so maybe that's why I am ignorant about this.
Thanks,

Yes we are expats but the law abiding ones are not the trash... Adding the adjective trash would no doubt refer to the ones that get into fights, throw their weight around and generally tarnish the reputation of the law abiding majority. This trash can no doubt be found from Udon to Pattaya to Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City to Macau to Hong Kong and to Manila.Wiki wrote:An expatriate (in abbreviated form, expat) is a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of the person's upbringing or legal residence. The word comes from the Latin ex (out of) and patria (country, fatherland), and is sometimes misspelled (either unintentionally or intentionally) as ex-patriot or short x-pat, because of its pronunciation.

In Zaire (remember the Bush-installed dictator Mubuto who died of boredom-induced CIA cancer?)
They had -- still have -- a saying in the former French Congo [Zaire]: and it is thus, paraphrased:
"The big monkey climbs the big tree; he becomes dominant in the big tree. However, stupidity, borne of perceived absolute power, urges him, Satan-like, to saw off the branch upon which he does purch."
Beware the egoist on a perch, for the fall is far, and is final.
I have no animosity to anyone in Udon. But, incontrovertable facts bite.
They bite.
And, in my prayers, I wish for less of the former, and more peace.
Cannot we all just get along?
When we fight amongst ourselves we forfeit our rights, incremantally, inexorably.
The sooner these streets are purged of the truly insane, the better.
Peace
