Posri Road Flooded

Post by jingjai » June 8, 2008, 5:41 pm

Don't know if this is a common... But Posri Rd., between Wat Po and Thungsi Muang was flooded at 4pm today. There were a few guys from the water company monitoring the situation in the big storm drain on the corner where VT restaurant is located.

They have put in pumps there as well as near to market top end of Phrosi road just down from makro.
problem is they seem to do it wrong and it will take half a dopzen digging up the road and tinkering to get it right. Pumps ok but it is where the water goes that gets blocked logic not a strong point in this country I am afraid.

With a bit of luck it will run behind the TawengDeng and wash away some of the nasty smells.

I haven't been out yet today, but... I have been told that some roads and soi's are flooded? Anyone out and about? Any updates about areas to avoid? I need to pick up someone from the main bus depot around 2pm. Thanks :D .

I just spoke with Glyn from The Englishman's Retreat. The road that fronts his establishment is flooded, well, it's flooded for cars like mine, pick ups will be OK. So where I live, a few kms. up from Englishman's Retreat, I'm stuck at home. :(

I know everyone has been really concerned  about me being 'stuck at home'.
With my exceptional exploratory and navigational skills, I have managed, with great difficulty, to find a way out. :D
As of 2:30pm today, the road in front of the Englishman's Retreat is still flooded and is now closed to traffic. :( . BB Resort is also unreachable.

Today the stream near PK Thani 4 is in full flood. No problems yet in PK Thani but the neighboring village on the south side has seen some flooding. Also went down by the Army base and golf course which was heavily flooded in some areas.

The strange thing is, the army is pumping the water from the flooded area, into the drainage ditch along Non Som Rong Rd. TIT.
It would seem the logical thing to do, would be to fill up water trucks, and haul the water away, to a dryer area. But, I'm no engineer.
