Woman Arrested for Operating a Casino and Selling Drugs

The gist of the story:

The 38 year old wife of a German national was arrested in BanChiang, A. Nonghan, for operating a casino and selling drugs.
According to the police investigation, the woman's husband is a taxi driver in Germany and comes to visit twice a year. They have one child. He sends her 20,000 Baht each month. The woman admitted to being a loanshark who accepted motorcycles as collateral. She says she's addicted to playing hi-lo. She pawned off 10 rai of land for 400,000 Baht but subsequently lost it gambling.

Her longtime friend invited her to open up a casino in her home as well as sell drugs. The meth pills and Ice were packed up in coffee packets and peddled to dealers near area schools.

The woman had been caught a week earlier dealing drugs with a Lao national near a school in A. TungFon (ทุ่งฝน).

My Guess if she had stay away from the DRUGS, she would still be doing a BOOMING Business with the Casino<>from my daily trek around Udonthani the Casino pretty much operate OPENLY<>four near my house

Agreed, the drug dealing was a deal killer with the local cops.

Mrs NL 'managed' the moobahn casino for about 8 or 9 months a couple of years ago. Gave it up in the end when the local MiB advised her that if the Bangkok MiB made an unannounced visit, she wouldn't be 'protected'. Funnily enough, the 'unannounced' visit happened a couple of days later. She was looking to jack it in since these punters want to play hi-lo at all hours of the day and night. Always meant someone, either her or her sister had to be there with their big handbags.

She was to addicted to gambling to be involved in the ''casino'' business!That is why she was in the drug business.Maybe the taxi driver can take a rest now,but probably not.....duh

So why not MORE UNANNOUNCED Visits by Bangkok MIB<>Casinos and drug dealing is rampant around this town.

Everyone playing this Hi Lo game seems to lose loads of money. Who is winning it all? It has to go somewhere.

I also see lots of the "Talad Hoon" betting parlors scattered around in old shops.. Big curtain on the door and hooting and hollering going on inside.. Don't know the exact deal but the wife says they're betting on stock market quotations (and they ain't buyin' no stocks!)

This is a interesting one ,, whilst living in Buriram there was a place where they were betting on the stock values shown on the tv money channel ,,,, simply the numbers bar that runs along the bottom of the screen , it cahnges twice daily apparently and bets were taken on the numbers if they went higher or lower or stayed the same ... this place was full late morning and late afternoon as the numbers changed .... there was /is a place o Adunyadhet rd that still does this openly .

Seems like they'll bet on just about anything........a new license plate, the plate of a visiting politician, the plate of a person who died in an accident, the number seen after putting powder on a tree.......it's a lucky thing Thais don't use toasters much....they'd be betting on the lucky number appearing burnt in their toast.
I especially like it when someone says they dreamed about a lucky number......let's say '56'. They'll bet on 56, but also bet on 57 and 55, and 65, then 66 and 64......upstairs, downstairs.........I guess the betting can go on indefinitely...and judging by some of the handwritten sheets I see market vendors pouring over, for some people the numbers go on indefinitely.

Just arrived in aus this morning and first thing i did was buy a lotto ticket in the 30 million prize tonight.
