The department advises people not to use mobile phones in opened areas during rainfall. They are warned not to stay near advertisement signs or wear materials that are conducive to electricity.
The Meteorological Department says high pressure, or the cold air mass, from China is covering Vietnam and the northern region of Laos. According to the forecast, the upper part of Thailand today will be hot and humid, favoring heavy rains and strong winds. Meanwhile, some areas in the North and Northeast may encounter hails.
Affected provinces include Loei, Nong Khai, Sakhon Nakhon, Udon Thani, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Buriram, Surin, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Phetchabun, Nan, Phayao, Chiang Rai, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, and Chiang Mai.
