3-way Ringroad/Nongbualamphu Interesection

The city is making plans to upgrade the 3-way intersection at the ringroad/Kilo 5 intersection (Nadee). No start date yet set, but the city hopes to have the 25 million Baht project done before the beginning of next rainy season. The bad news.....there aren't any good options for routing traffic between Nongbualamphu/Udon during construction.

There was a rumor many years ago that a The Mall was to be built on the SW corner. The land at the time belonged to one of our ex-mayors, Khun Hanchai's family. That would have made the intersection even worse.

Is this the nasty T junction between the Airport and Tesco/Neesoon on the way to NWS ?? if so sound like it will be will be nasty for a long time and pleased im moving very soon saying tatty bye to the AP/RR junction that has been my home for several years... there a couple of routes to get to the kutyap road to avoid it but very small rural roads some in bad shape.

Always a great idea to begin these projects at the start of rainy season .. NOT

So they'll have a big, new, sexy T-junction at the location mentioned and a big, new, sexy crossroads where the Mittraphap Highway 2 from KK meets the big, new, sexy eastend ring road. But in between (and south of DM's flash new digs) there'll be the rough as guts 'southern bypass' that's perpetually being patched and resurfaced.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this project to start. There's always lots of talk but little action. The article says they're proposing to lay 25cm thick concrete road for the new intersection. That's nearly 10" thick of concrete! I guess they plan to use it as an emergency runway for the airport. 555
