NEWS HEADLINE : Hail storms hit Nong Khai province
Hail storms ravaged rural villages and damaged homes throughout the Muang District of Nong Khai province. Damage after the storm, that also involved a miniature typhoon was 50 homes badly damaged and a loss of power to 11 surrounding villages.
Trees and electricity poles were toppled in the heavy gusts of the storm, coupled by falling hail that followed days of balmy heat. 30 homes were most critically damaged with residents having to leave for temporary shelters or relatives homes.
Governor Udom Puasakul (à¸à¸¸à¸”ม พัวสุà¸à¸¥) of Uthai Thani province has warned his residents to beware of such storms that may be approaching the nation. He has instructed citizens to closely monitor reports from the Meteorological department as well reinforce their homes to be ready to sustain erratic weather conditions. The governor especially warned citizens to inspect electrical wiring for signs of damage or instability, which may be a hazard during heavy storms.
