Sporting Event at Health & Fitness College

Post by jingjai » July 19, 2012, 2:40 pm

There is going to be a week long sporting event at Health & Fitness College located on the Ring Rd., going towards the airport.
I think the opening day ceremony will be this coming Saturday the 21st, at 2pm. The event will continue until the 30th.
The student competitors will come from all over Thailand.
Football, basketball, track & field, etc.
They've been upgrading the whole facility for a few months now in preparation for the event.
They even filled in the old swimming pool with sand for one of my favorite spectator sports: Woman's Beach Volleyball! Bring yer own beer, it is a college after all ;) .

I don't know what the schedule of events is. Perhaps, one of our Thai script readers can find it on a website or newspaper?

It's all over town this event
I translate this to mean: more than usual intolerable traffic for the coming week?. :-k

Well, Udon FC have a home game on Sunday 29th, ko 1800 hrs. IF the students are still there and anything's scheduled for that time of the day, perhaps they'd have to make use of the secondary stadium? More traffic problems? Where are all these students being accommodated - at the facility, I guess. I hope the new loos are ready. Last home game there was a mobile loo set up outside the main stadium. And I can assure you, one wouldn't wish to use the normal loo near the basketball courts in the state I found it, even for a standup job!

Well, it does appear that the students are going to be fully active right through till Monday (move this post to ' More Unwanted Teenage Pregnancies Topic' ? ). My understanding, unconfirmed, is that Udon have relocated Sunday's home game v Mahasarakam to be played in KHON KAEN! :-s Nong Khai would surely have been a better option (Nong Khai actually play league leaders Roi Et on SATURDAY, so no clash there) but perhaps there's something else preventing that move.

Playing at Khon Kaen?
That's akin to Palace playing at Brighton.

Yeah, it would be a 2 hour single-way journey for me, with the extra 35 kms from Phen. Doubt TW and young son will allow me to escape for that long. I think it will be Nong Khai v Roi Et in lieu and in view of league table, I'll be cheering for NK.
