No real Visible Security at any of the Banks Branches at Big C or other Major Shopping Area, but hey my guess that will CHANGE now.

My thoughts exactly ,,,, he "only" had a knife NOT a firearm ,,, and no body did nothing ,,, leads me to the question

If you were in that bank at the same time WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE ? ... i aint no hero or tuff guy but i would of attempted to banjo the weasel .

Hi,
It is not worth your life to "banjo the weasel." The police in a lot of countries say this to people.
Also " he only had a "knife". A knife in the hands of someone, who knows what he is doing, is more deadly than a gun, in this type of situation.
Surely the banks, in LOS, have CCTV. Best way to catch a armed robber, and not risk your life, you only have one. Lets hope the police get him.

I agree douglas.

And I expect Mr CC will shortly be getting an email from the Scunthorpe chairman, requesting he not put 33% of their remaining supporter base at risk.

All points alert for a man wearing a motorcycle helmet. Thinking about that, that should be an easy find for the police!

100% ,,, the bib will catch this fella they always do here .... all the banks ive been in here have security guards ,, maybe he was taking a leak / somtam break ...or it was his buddy doing the robbery .. happened before .

Ref the knife issue ,, we must come from a very different background ... i know IMO if i was caught up in an issue / violent position i would rather be looking at a nutter with a knife than a firearm ... during my time in Pattaya running a busy club knife fights and trouble were a regular occurrance ,, thank fully only once was a gun drawn in / outside the venue ,, experience counts for a lot of my statements i dont make them without thought ,,and yes i would have banjoed the weasel if at all poss.

Just had a call Jack ... SUFC share holders have emplored me not to banjo any weasels ,as they need my support too much .

Shame on you...are not weasels on the endangered list...

Quote: "In 2008, the IUCN rated the Least Weasel or Common Weasel (. Mustela nivalis). as "Great Concern". They ARE endangered."

A Thai friend of mine was there when it happened. He said he just stood and watched because he thought it was just a training exercise. :D

I don't remember ever seeing a guard at the Big C location, with the exception of the ATM guys.

Me I would have gotten as far away from that knife as I could

Hi,
Mash if you fully read my post you will see that i said a knife in the hands of of someone who knows what he is doing. I dont think i would ask him this, and would let the police earn their money. Just MO.
By the way a couple of years ago a man was shot seven times and is still alive today. For close work i would choose a knife all the time.

Yes agree ... Doug wasnt knocking your op at all .......... i would rather NEVER get caught up in the middle of owt like this in the first place ...

i watch a Thai tv programme about nutters n robbers who take hostages , usually and strangely ended up on a roof or in the back of a pick up ,,, the BIB sweet talk then pounce ,, the give the fella a good kicking along with the by standers .. cant think what its called some thing like nadi chuk churn but thats probably miles of the real way to say it .

WMDs and the thort of a nuclear Thailand ... now that does put the willies up me !!

Actually guys through my cop shop career I saw many guys killed by knives. Hard to believe since I worked in Southern California where guns are everywhere. Don't need a lot of skill, a deep enough puncture wound will do the trick. Slicing an artery will also do the trick. The only way to be in a knife fight is to have a gun and some distance. I don't think any of us have have a gun. So best let the guys who get paid for it take care of things.

Yep, a spot on Bumper, with all the Eyes and Ears around during the robbery I am sure enough info will be provide to catch this guy<>no need risk getting yourself hurt<>unless it was a life or death situation. For sure Security has been BEEF-UP now.

I'm thinking that a good swing with a Louisville Slugger (baseball bat for you non-Americans) across the knees might have been effective. OTOH, I don't usually walk around carrying mine, -- in fact, it's still at home in Boston!!

My guess unless you were a train Police Officer or someone with special combat SKILLS(take that Knife away and give an As# Kicking), then you would have done what the Bank Tellers and the Customers did get the heck out of the way, now on the other hand if I was just driving by and saw someone yelling and point at him as he was making his escape, not a problem I would have given his motorbike a little BUMP from the safety of my car<>I understand he did in fact have little fall as he made his escape into the Soi.(?)
