That is indeed rough to see. Sad.

As to it being posted here, it's news. This is a news outlet.

It's on the regular television station also.

Hope she lives.

Some distraught lady attempting suicide is not news in my book, especially with a video attachment, next we will be looking at the taliban beheading westerners get real, this is a forum not a news service catering to sick puppies, hang your head in shame!

What did you expect to see in the link? Sad as it is, it's a reminder that I never want to have to rely on emergency ambulance care in thailand.....in the middle of downtown or anywhere.

Parrot it is not about what I expected in the link, its about why attaching the link to a predominantly western forum, for what purpose? Most who are educated and even a tradesman like myself who grew up in the west understands that this would never be broadcast in any western country as it serves no purpose, again hang your head in shame Trubrit, I have no idea why an old suposed educated gent would even consider attaching the link. Why?

Funny Coxo, but I read the OP and thought "I don't want to see that" ...... SO I DIDN'T CLICK ON THE LINK.

I did my own censorship .... I'm a big boy and can make up my own mind . I don't need someone else telling me what I can and can't watch

Coxo. I suggest you pull your head in a bit. I am neither illegitimate nor uneducated.
My reasons for posting. Firstly it is news that occurred in Udon and although it is an unpleasant subject it is a factual one., and as Parrot pointed out it not only shows the length the poor distressed woman resorted to, it vividly highlighted the lack of care and concern shown by everyone , not least of all by the so called emergency services. The video itself was highly pixelated to avoid visual distress to its viewers and a very apparent warning was added by myself giving a warning of it's content to those likely to be upset or offended in any way by it's content, they could skip viewing it. It's obvious by the replies some chose this course .You however did not , perhaps your curiosity got the better of you, for which you blame me .This is an adult forum, are you suggesting it's content should be censored because you didn't like it? Perhaps you would prefer an over 18 topic title for the bigger boys . :-"

should I even get into this bun fight, certainly not to chooses sides, but as another perspective perhaps.
Firstly this is not neccessilary ( hate spelling that word ) an adult forum..you can google ' woman sets fire to herself in temple ' and there we are, top of the pops. So anyone of any age, sex, religion, belief, and click onto TB's thread and his link and get access to the show...

I prefer not to view such things, as three of my immediate / extended family have committed suicide, two of them successfully, and I lost a handful of friends that way also..perhaps some members in their former lives have attempt, or come close to, or have lost family members in such a way, and it triggers bad memoirs for them...perhaps some of our world wide audience have, or are tempted, or are feeling vunerable at present..and so should we been giving them easy access via this site to disturbing or thought provoking images..

suicide has been a taboo subjects for decades, there is the fear that chatting about might even tip someone over the edge..well thats how we see it in my country, and it is only this last two years, that we are coming out of the closet about the subject, and chatting openly with highschool kids, our most vunerable peer pressure group..but we dont show them such video's

should we censor such things on this site.. yes...not to the point of banning them, but if it is good enough to require one to log in to view certain threads about sex, and Thai girls, that happens on this site, then I see know reason why the same cannot apply to senstive matters such as this...that still lets TB present his post, but it requires only the curious ' member only ' members from going to the trouble of logging in to view it...TB's little warning sign is something, but one is banking on the reader being of sound educated and adult mind in order to choose to view or not, but as I say, you can google TB's heading and anyone worldwide can then see it, child or adult..

does it hurt the mods to apply ' members only ' requirements to threads of certain moral / senstive issues...

On the whole a very sensible and logical post but it does raise a few questions, the first being. Over the years this and many other forums have reguarly posted on farang suicides by many means , mostly jumping. The links provided often showed the blood spattered victim laying on the floor, sometimes in just only underware, To my knowledge these have never raised any questions as to suitability for the audience. what's the difference this time? I can only see that it can be the method chosen, gruesome for sure, but with the same end result. So how would one decide which went into the "
members only" category? You appear to suggest that those logging in to the video, knowing they would be disturbed by it, must be of less than sound mind. Well I would point out that only one on here did that, so thankfully the majority wouldn't fall into that group. As for the Google comment , whilst I cannot be held responsible for who does that, I would think that only those interested in the subject, for whatever reason, would attempt to find it. I realise that some contemplating self harm might be among them, so perhaps Google should censor it too? Whilst we are at it, why not ban all the news agencies from showing or even mentioning the subject. Sorry Maaka , sometimes nonsense happens in this world as you full well know unfortunately, we just can't all do as the ostrich does and bury our head in the sand, better we face the prospects both good and bad awaiting us .

By the way Trubrit I didn't watch the video as words paint enough of a picture, it is totally unacceptable for a public forum, this is the reason media is controlled in the west, to control the trivia brigade, like the Murdoch press, like Macca I have lost freinds and family to suicide, hang your head in shame!

Again totally out of context, you are talking about Thai media, unregulated, western media would NOT show such crap.

I for one can't see the logic in your comments. This forum is to discuss events and information in Thailand and particularly Udon both bad and good . This is reality and it is not always nice, same as events in the news. No one had to view the video and were warned beforehand. Unless you can live in a Fairytale world or bury your head somewhere you will see things that are sad or upsetting. I think you are overeacting or way too sensitive.

Of course I am talking about Thai media, that's where we are isn't it ? I certainly do not feel any shame in posting it, my sentiments are reserved for the poor woman involved, driven to such desperate measures.which you describe as "Such crap"
