Re-entry permit at Udon Immigration or Don Meuang?

Post by tamada » July 19, 2022, 9:54 am

I need to get one one at short notice. Does the Udon office need the paperwork filled in in advance (printed at home, etc), or are they all digital and less faff? Just me, my passport and cash?

My international departure is out of DMK tomorrow afternoon. Does Immigration have a Re-entry permit desk air-side Don Mueang like they do at Suvarnabhumi? I have a longish transit there so getting one at the airport like I normally do (out of BKK) would be even less faff.

I got a re-entry permit in late April, zero doc required, just your passport. When I arrived at Imm the triage agent asked what I needed. She took my passport gave it to a desk agent , i paid the 1000 thb.. End of story.
Have a safe, pleasant and fun trip.

That's good. I am already in their system at the BKK re-entry desk so it's fast, no paperwork, just a picture refresh. Maybe that data is shared with DMK and equally slick.

After security go down stairs to the right at the end of the hall past the immigration booths.

At BKK (Suvarnabhumi) it's as you described but ONLY in Immigration Zone 2. That's the one at the west end opposite check-in aisles PQ/RS. It's not easily available in Zone 1 without having to do some walking from Zone 1 to Zone 2 (behind immigration). Same for the Premium Lanes at immigration. If one of those pax need a re-entry, they also need to trek to Zone 2 to get it and go back to where they came from.

It was 1000 at Don Muang this morning as well.

Since Immigration are processing these personally at Don Muang, unlike Suvarnabhumi where they have a third-party running the re-entry application desk, there's no 100 baht mark up.

Where is the desk at DMK? Can't say I have ever been touched up for an extra 100 Baht at BKK??

I copped the compulsory 100 baht top-up donation while doing my extension this morning in Udon (ie 2000 for a 1900 baht fee).

Coincidentally, an Aussie guy at the chair alongside me was doing a re-entry application, and it was definitely 3800 for the multiple.

I also had my introduction to the Agents at work. The female officer who was handling my application was handed (over my shoulder) packages of documents by a couple of different people (male, and female) at different times, which were handed on to back office staff tout de suite. I also noticed she kept a tally on a sheet of paper, no doubt for when the reconciliation was done at a later stage.

What was particularly galling was when I was bounced from my seat for about 10 minutes, while what must have been a pressing Agent matter was given priority attention.

As the thread is about the re-entry permit my comment about the 100 Baht tea money is related to that NOT extn renewal!!!

I've done maybe four or five re-entry applications at BKK and the extra handling charge was applied each time except the first where I furnished the hand-filled form. If they use your existing data on subsequent applications where they autofill the form and take the digital picture, they charge for the convenience of not wasting your own paper and ink. Just sign their form.

The office at DMK is immediately behind the immigration kiosks. Inside the office, they have two desks, one for Re-entry and the other for Overstay. It was dead quiet and the lass that served me was super polite. So you get stamped out and then go the office and get the re-entry stuff before heading to security, then the gates. Whereas BKK is security, then re-entry, then stamping out and on to the gates.
