Extension at Udon immigration
Extension at Udon immigration
I will need a short extension on my current, visa-exempt entry. In addition to the passport, TM7, passport picture and 1900 baht, what else does Udon Thani immigration need from me in the way of supporting docs and copies, etc.?
Will they need a TM30?
Do they prefer to use their own forms or happy with the pre-filled downloads?

No need for TM30 Tam, just TM7.
Not sure about pre-filled downloads. If typed might reject but handwritten on downloaded form is what I used to do and no problems.

Cheers Alex. The Word.doc forms I have downloaded have the blank 'prefill' boxes with drop-down menus for some of the date-related stuff, and the typing is easier to read than my handwriting.
Since I am busy next week in Bangkok and the last two working weeks of this month are short due to Buddhist and national public holidays, I will do it tomorrow.

My TM7 and any other form I submit to immigration is alway typed as my handwriting is probably at least as poor as anyone else’s, it has never been an issue, I have never been asked to handwrite a form.tamada wrote: ↑July 9, 2024, 2:11 pmCheers Alex. The immigration officer may actually transfer the information from your form to one they generate themselves, they did that on my last extension I have no idea why, I was then asked to sign their typed form.

Re: Extension at Udon immigration
Just renewed my 1 year extension last week.
I got a form at immigration & started to fill it in.
The officer told me not to bother and took the form off me with all the other documents.
Bank statement, photo etc.
When I was called to sign the form with photocopies of everything I noticed the form was typed.
It looks as though all the young officers who sit behind the front desks do all the copying and type fill the forms in then pass all the documents to the front desk officer to check and issue the extension and collect the money.

If you took a copy of the TM7 that they filled in for you you will notice that some of the information is in Thaipal52 wrote: ↑July 10, 2024, 7:19 amJust renewed my 1 year extension last week.

Re: Extension at Udon immigration
I think a lot of the long-stayers legacy personal information has already been transferred into digital form at immigration. When I last filed an annual extension, I only had to sign the pre-printed form that already had the picture they had just taken with their PC cam.
When you apply for a re-entry permit at BKK, they already have all your info, but some insist on saving 200 baht and bringing their own forms.
I recall a few years back seeing a large 6-wheel truck hauling away literally tons of all those double-sided, bundled photo copies of support documents, all tied up with plastic twine, from the immigration office. I thought maybe off for storage elsewhere, but maybe off to be recycled as it (always) was redundant.

Re: Extension at Udon immigration
Dropped in on Wednesday afternoon. Didn't need anything as they photocopied what they needed, took my picture and gave me their own, computer generated TM7 form to sign plus sign the other couple of other 'disclaimer' documents. Got a 30-day extension (only needed 10 but never mind). Receipt for 1900 baht but asked for 2000 with the extra 100 baht "for take photo."
