Big step-down transformer

Post by tamada » January 2, 2018, 9:47 pm

I have a Dacor Discovery Countertop Convection Microwave that I snapped up for about 5000 baht from Amorn a few years ago. Assembled in Thailand for the 110V US market where they retail at over US$1000, it was probably a QC reject like most of Amorn's brand-name stock. Amorn had attempted to fit their own step-down transformer inside but it was way too small and burned out. I run it off an external 750 W step-down transformer which was the biggest off-the-shelf in Pattaya and worked great but with the low-voltage in Udon, I need more grunt.

The oven is rated at 13 A on regular US 120 V, 15 A service.

Anyone know where I can get at least 1000 W step down transformer in town?

I have a 1, 2, and 7K ones I brought from Korea. Never used except for coffee pot and PS/Xbox use. PM me if interested.
Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast, hit 'em with the one they don't expect, and just keep hitting.
