I disagree strongly with Doodoo on this one. There is no way a logical, compassionate or 'strong' person can compare wearing a t-shirt that is offensive to the kidnapping or killing of a child. Doodoo, my suggestion is you should try to locate your thinking cap and place it on your noggin as soon as possible. However, up to you.

If you believe that wearing an offensive T-shirt is as bad as killing an infant or kidnapping a child, then you and I live on different planets. I would be interested to hear from other UM people on this question.

Yes, t-shirts bearing insulting and derogatory words or improper symbolism are offensive.

However, some see a green headband with Arabic script and rail about it being a Hamas headband. That's ignorance. Hezbollah headbands are yellow, BTW. Others see a Palestinian flag and conflate it with the "slaughter of the Jews". That's ignorance too. Some say the two blue bands on the Israeli flag denotes the same, offensive "from the river to the sea" claim that denies Arabs to exist there. More, hate-inspired ignorance.

Saying an offensive t-shirt is on par with the murder of infants is more than ignorance. In this instance, I think it disregards or otherwise dilutes the real horror that was the Holocaust.

A t-shirt can be taken off, this removing the offense, but an infant's life cannot be restored.

Well, it seems that the raid on the Al-Shifa hospital is over. So far, no evidence of a command centre, 'evidence' found so far amounts to half a dozen guns, a couple of laptops and maybe 5 Hamas fighters. These claims, are, of course denied by Hamas, and medical staff at the hospital. Apparently CT and MRI scanners were smashed by Israeli troops while looking for weapons. A rather poor result considering all the Hype.

seems to me the Israeli entrance into the hospital and clearing it of Hamas fighhters (how many ditched their "uniforms" and beat feet in civvie?) means that the Israelis now have the responsibility for the well being of the patients and the hospital. They should be trucking in fuel, water, food and medical supplies right now.

As for Hamas elements within the hospital, a number of videos show fighters dodging in and out of the entrance with AK's and RPG's the other day, firing at the Israelis and running back in.

I agree that all the hooplah about "command centers" seems overplayed although I don't know if the Israelis have fully explored the enitre complex..

Frankly, I wouldn't believe what most Gazans say about Hamas because as long as those people are there, if they say the wrong thing, they could end up dead...

I think the popular claim from the Hamas-controlled ministry of health is every 8 minutes, a Palestinian child dies.

I was listening to a podcast earlier about the NHS's problems with a lack of midwives where they claimed a child is born every 58 seconds in the UK.

An article in the quite biased BBC today. The hospital lights seem to be on and the article even refers to the brightly lit corridors. Slightly different to the picture painted by the terrorists and their supporters.

You read the article but as usual failed to understand what you were reading.
A Terrorist cache of weapons and computers found inside the hospital, no brave terrorists, they have run away and merged with the civilians. That's why they don't wear uniforms, it allows them to hide behind civilians.
What size does your imagination think a Command Center is? it can be anything between 6 men to 60 depending on the size of force they are commanding.
As for the BBC, I think the BBC as an organisation has become polluted with biased, left wing, champagne socialists. Who are all earning big bucks paid for by Joe Public but only give their version of real events.

If only Bibi had, at some time during his lengthy and problematic premiership, said let's try and sit down and work out a mutually agreeable solution to this intractable problem, based on a 2 state solution - instead of suppressing the Palestinians, and supporting the ongoing settlement encroachment into what lands the Palestinians tenuously enjoy.

THAT would have been far more acceptable to right thinking people, and more than likely have led to a position far removed from what we have today.
