History of the U.S.A.

Post by Laan Yaa Mo » December 21, 2021, 5:55 am

On today's date in history, the United States purchased the Louisiana Territory from Napoleonic France for $15 million. The significance for North America (Canada, the U.S. and Mexico) is that the United States became an instant world power. In addition, the debate within British, French and Spanish political sources over whether or not the United States would survive ended.

Territorial, political and resource gains. It opened up half the country to Manifest Destiny. There was nothing to stop the U.S.A. now.
