Israel and the West bank

Post by rick » September 3, 2024, 9:52 am

Extremist settlers rapidly seizing West Bank land.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c207j6wy332o

The number of illegal settlements has nearly doubled since 2019. Under international law ALL Jewish settlements on the West bank are illegal. This investigation shows that the Israeli government is funding these illegal settlers.

Clear evidence of human rights abuses and ethnic cleansing.

Human rights.
Suppose they were shouting about that as they executed the hostages last week.

It appears that the IDF may have carried out an execution of their own.

And it appears she wasn't even throwing stones, or running away. ;)

https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-begin ... -throwers/

As she is an American citizen, this naturally gets a lot more media time than the numerous West Bank Palestinians, including children, who have been shot and killed (?murdered) by the IDF for throwing stones.

I thought she was Turkish, which is why the Government of Turkiye is calling for revenge.

He then watched as two soldiers on the roof of a nearby home trained a gun in the group’s direction and fired.

He said he saw Eygi “lying on the ground, next to an olive tree, bleeding to death.”

Some of the details dont quite add up Tam, 2 soldiers but just a gun. Hit in the head but bleeding to death.
Again a protest group throwing rocks and no doubt using quite lethal slings as well expecting no reaction from armed soldiers who are on the receiving end?
If it was a deliberate shot taken by a soldier while the rock throwers were resting under olive trees then he deserves to be charged and jailed.
However, cannot compare the holding hostages for 11 months and then just deciding to end their lives by shooting them at close range (who knows what kind of terror these poor people were put through before the final end) with the death of a protestor.

So it's impossible to bleed to death from a head wound? OK.

The bullet, any bullet for that matter, typically comes from (just a) gun.

BTW, it wasn't my summation and, although you don't see parallels, many others do.

although you don't see parallels, many others do.

What possible parallels can anyone see in the prolonged captivity of hostages, under what kind of terrors being perpetrated one can hardly imagine. Then ultimately being executed at close range with most likely the heroic executioners screaming out their love for there God as they carry it out (standard Modus Operandi). Comparing an unfortunate quick unexpected death from a head shot,(perhaps) while being part of a rock and missile throwing riot with the above needs the kind of imagination that I dont possess.

Just noting that he claims 2 soldiers aimed a gun, why say 2 why not just say a soldier aimed a gun.
Did they not go to her aid, was she alive after the shot, did they not try to stop the bleeding. Just asking.

For some reason, I saw the very obvious parallel as being between the perpetrators, rather than the unfortunate victims.

Wasting your time asking me, aren't you? I posted one link to the AP story based on input from one witness. By now, there will be several more detailed narratives from participants and witnesses to get your inquisitive teeth into.

BTW, she was pronounced dead in a hospital, so I am pretty sure that blood loss may have contributed somewhat to her demise regardless of how many people went to her aid and tried to stop the bleeding, which they did BTW.

These additional witnesses would not have been taking part in the Pro-Hamas missile throwing riot by any chance, would they? Or from Gaza Health Ministry sources?

I don't think it was as much "pro-Hamas" as anti-Israel's illegal occupation of the West Bank? You know, the internationally recognised illegal occupation, including their greatest ally?

The Gaza Health Ministry has buggerall to do with the West Bank. The clue is "Gaza".

Either way, GIYF.

Israel pays much more attention and respect to U.N. actions than does Hamas.

If everyone wants to respect U.N. actions and decisions, the problem will be over. People will stop trying to destroy Israel, Palestinians will have their state in the West Bank, Israel will withdraw from Gaza, and peace will reign. But Israel refuses to be the only one playing by the rules, a reasonable position, IMO.

As I've said before, Hamas wants the world to abide by U.N. decisions except with they are inconsistent with what Hamas wants.

The increasing futility of Netanyahu's strategy explained. When he's gone, Hamas will remain.
