More austerity to come.

The Telegraph understands that the Chancellor will recommit to tight spending plans in the Autumn Statement on Nov 22, which maps out his approach until 2029.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/20 ... statement/

The Tories were originally known as the Court Party.

As a political term, Tory was an insult (derived from the Middle Irish word tóraidhe, modern Irish tóraí, meaning "outlaw", "robber", from the Irish word tóir, meaning "pursuit" since outlaws were "pursued men")

How apropos.

UK politics are fascinating. There is little doubt the Tories are going to (deservedly) cop it right up the Khyber in the next election.

BTW - this is my 28th post since 10 October.

Alex - I believe you are up around 40 since you came back on air on that date.

The Home Secretary wants to ban homeless people from living in tents - calling it ‘lifestyle choice’

https://www.euronews.com/2023/11/04/uk- ... ifestyle-c

I thought being Vegan, not wearing a bra, buying an EV or shopping at Lidl's was a lifestyle choice. Not having a roof over your head comes from either botched social policies or lack of social policies that can be botched in the first place.

In other news, the Minister for Levelling it All, Lack of Housing and Community Death reckons that if you don't like Britain's traditional institutions or share the same values, the police could be coming along shortly to have a word with you.

Braverman barks "hate march" and Rishi publicly summons the Met chief to #10 for what must be a reading of the riot act.

After the meeting, he meekly claims it was just so he can be assured that the cops know what they're doing and how to do it.

They will not be the rancourous Home Secretary's stormtroopers (this weekend).

Sorry Tam
Braverman for me is stating what 'most' people in the UK actually feel.
The pandering to Muslim demonstrations (on a very sacred day) and any counter demo being called 'EXTREME RIGHT WING' (BBC words not mine) just proves how the slightly less than Communist supposedly 'intelligencia' have turned a really decent Country into the absolute mess that the UK has become.

I see that 'most people agree with Suella Braverman'(or Cruella Braverbitch). Obviously, this does not include the 300,000 (according to the police) or 800,000 (according to the organisers) who marched from Hyde Park to the American Embassy. at Nine Elms.

Will the present Home Secretary last until next week? Or Christmas? Or until the General Election? Will she be re-elected?

Wow 300 thousand (wonder how many of them can legally vote) out of a population of 68 million, that would give a fair indication of who is representing the real views of British people.

Whereas the performance art that Yaxley-Lennon brought to Saturdays's somber and "sacred" event were the epitome of the much admired and globally acknowledged, multicultural, peaceful and benevolent society that is Great Britain.

Strange, did not see him calling for an international Jihad or the complete eradication of a Sovereign Nation by murdering the whole population. But there again I was not wearing my red tinted specs.

Looking forward to any credible evidence that the scurrilous 300,000-odd on the recent peace march, that allegedly don't even have a pair of democratic British votes to rub together, were calling for an "international Jihad or the complete eradication of a Sovereign Nation by murdering the whole population".

Meanwhile, in the Telegraph...

No, did not think you would see the banners 'From the river to the sea" The Hamas pledge to end all jews in the Middle East by slaughter.
A bit pathetic copying a supposed survey of British people when they don't even state how many were surveyed, what part of London were they from etc.
Nearly as bad as quoting a World Exclusive (not picked up in any other Media) by The National about missing children in Fascist Britain's hotel accommodation provided for illegal immigrants.

Labour shadow minister Lisa Nandy said the letter was "just the latest instalment in a Tory psychodrama that's been playing out over the last 13 years, holding the rest of the country to ransom while the Tories fight among themselves".

Pithy stuff.

Back on topic, the lame duck Tory PM was simply AWESOME at PMQ's yesterday, claiming the Supreme Court's ruling that the sacked Braverman's "dream" of flying illegal immigrants to Rwanda is illegal was actually a win. All they need to do is make new laws to circumvent the existing ones. Even Starmer, the less than eloquent leader of the opposition, had a good day and had Rishi flapping hysterically with only the "but Labour" rhetoric as an answer.

More pathetic was the spleet-new Home Secretary James Cleverly not so cleverly tip-toeing repeatedly around member's questions drawing attention to the fact that changing the laws so that the UK is no longer beholden to ECHR rules, imperils the foundations of the Good Friday agreement.

Now, over to the Rt.Hon. Spokesman for Murdochmedia for the "trtuh".
