Scandalous governments

The usual nonsense from the left wing. Saying that the additional tax on people who have already paid their full share into the the bottomless barrel that we all pay for will not have an effect on them. They quite cleverly adopt the usual jealousy mantra of the left, showing pictures of the massively expensive Fettes College where only 'really' rich people can send their children. Someone just has to remind them that the revered leader Mr Anthony Bliar was a boarding pupil at that very same school before he went to Oxford. Who says there's no benefits in a GOOD education ?

Re: Scandalous governments
Gotta love some on here with their views, a pent up desire to bash incoming progressive governments.
Under conservative governments that held the mantle for years, governments that decended into chaos, these posters were angry. They were angry because they had nothing to complain about, because their own right wing leaders were utter crap, but them being right wing forbad them from venting their spleen.
Now they are delighted, sleazy is the new buzzword, no issue is too insignificant to invoke their rightful wrath.
I am so happy for them.

Best being part of this forum by placing the intellectual challenged on foes list. A lot less post to read and a great time saver.

You really have to check what the word progressive means.Whistler wrote: ↑September 23, 2024, 5:48 pmGotta love some on here with their views, a pent up desire to bash incoming progressive governments.

Just what chaos was happening.
Prisons getting emptied of criminals so Starlin can jail those that dont agree with him.
Think you will find that I am paraphrasing another Leftie (sleazy, slimey) who tends to be as bad as you for the insults rather than educated responses.
They had nothing to complain about? Maybe the fact that Liebour are in power with less voters than Corbyne had in 2019 disproves your argument.
And now the self proclaimed Servants of the People have said they will not accept anymore Freebies. Thats the UK problems sorted then?
Re: Scandalous governments
Can you explain the Australian term 'BASH' to most of us non Australians.
Is it a description of extreme violence or just a wee disagreement of the content of a post?

Sleazy Reeves the first ever Chancellor of the Exchequer who thinks she can tax her way to expanding the economy.
Just giving up her freebies must have an affect on the designer clothes industry.
Servants of the People??
All sounds very strange doesn't it, PM and wife accepting free clothes from a wealthy labour donor / friend? Maybe this behaviour is normal but I've never heard of it before. Maybe Starma has been taking lessons from Deputy PM Prawit Wongsuwan and the borrowing of expensive watches from an undisclosed friend.BBC wrote:Records show that Prime Minister Keir Starmer has received more than £16,000 for clothes and glasses from Lord Waheed Alli, a Labour party donor.
Starmer's wife Victoria has also received free clothing, as well as a personal shopper and alterations, which Starmer initially failed to declare.
It has also emerged that, after Labour came to power, Lord Alli had been given a temporary Downing Street security pass despite having no formal government role.
Then on Friday, the Financial Times reported that deputy prime minister Angela Rayner and chancellor Rachel Reeves also received thousands of pounds of donations for clothing. They categorised it as general office support.
On Friday evening, Downing Street source said the trio would no longer accept clothing donations.

I have worked for some of the largest privately owned construction companies in the UK. To be allowed to tender for Government contracts we had to sign that we accepted that we would work under numbers of Government issued guidelines.
This included not accepting gifts valued at more than a UK Pound (basically the value of a pocket diary)from sub contractors or suppliers. Seems the Liebour Party dont think they have to abide by these rules.
Seems another example of 2 Tier Starlin.

James Obrien, the Jonathan Pyle of the TV. As far as the other non entity is concerned, glad that he's on your must watch list Tam.
Does not get away from the fact that the self proclaimed Servants of the People are as corrupt and greedy as all other parties.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper pledges to halve knife crime in a decade, confirming a policy from Labour's election manifesto.
Wow, a showing of determination to stop the needless slaughter of young people. We will halve knife crime in 10 years.
But if you write nasty things on social media you will be quickly arrested and jailed.
Anybody see anything wrong with this?

Re: Scandalous governments
That's the Labour party conference done and dusted for another year. Full of highs and lows with the Chancellor generally getting big thumbs up from both sides for her maiden conference speech. Now we await her budget to see how much of her speech translates into reality.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care apparently didn't get the "stop flogging a dead horse" memo and overcooked the rote "but the Tories" spiel instead of toning down the doom and gloom. But he's a youngish whippersnapper who's making all the right political moves (sworn into the Privy Council already) while harbouring the wish to be PM.
But in the end, the membership rather pissed on their own parade by voting to reject the government's winter fuel allowance cut in a non-binding vote on the last day. This less than two weeks after their MP's voted to support it in parliament.
Honeymoon's over (if it ever really started).

Taking this one beyond the UK's disgruntled masses, the following is worth a read. The blight of bad politicians has spread globally.

They will be out when they are are in their early 20's, the victim will still be dead.
Justice?

Re: Scandalous governments
Anyone watching last week's Labour party conference was probably left wondering how on earth did they win the election. The Conservative Party conference has kicked of and now we can all see why Labour did.

Re: Scandalous governments
Liebour won because no one voted for the tories, huge majority with less votes for Liebour than in 2019 (a resounding defeat for the Marxists) Liebours performance so far if continued will probably result in even less voters in the next election. How the remaining voters will distribute their votes is the great unknown.
Re: Scandalous governments
The Conservatives lost because, after 14 years of mismanagement and misconduct, nobody voted for them. They are a decimated and momentarily leaderless clique who barely managed to cling on to the role of being the main opposition in parliament. So weak and so despised, they won't be able to cobble together any sort of coalition for a wee while yet.
Meanwhile, Labour is steering the UK away from the rocks that the Tories almost foundered on. Just waiting for their complete political renaissance in Scotland before breaking out the Veuve Clicquot.

There was me thinking that the chattering class, fizzy booze crowd in Londinistan had been doing that for years. Probably will be the only ones in the UK who will be able to afford anything more than a warm stout after The Servant of the People have finished with them.
Nice to see he is paying back some of his ill-gotten freebies. To think we used to have to pay tax on a 30P luncheon voucher.

Well done Tam
Changed the title of the thread to coincide with your views.
One of the posts are saying that a donation to an election fund, totally legal and done by every political party.
The other 3 are from dubious far left publications. Please note not one of them say anything about accepting clothing, designer spectacles, free tickets to pop concerts, free use of luxury flats so his child can study (at the same time as he is raising taxes on private education),free football hospitality boxes, free entry to expensive nightclubs so the working class, just loves to dance Deputy PM can show off her free designer clothes etc etc. All from the party who claimed they would change the unacceptable face of UK politics. Aye Right.

Re: Scandalous governments
Absolutely amazing that the Liebour Party have just cancelled the Access to Ministers 30K for a breakfast meeting plus an additional 15K (UK Poonds) for a photo that was on offer last week. Wonder why?
Absolutely amazing that we can now spend an enormous amount of money 22Billion (remember the fabled 22B Black Hole claims) on carbon capture that will create jobs and save the world? Just how not explained but the cost is defined.
Absolutely amazing that Starlin is so embarrassed by the sleaze evidence he is paying back 6K of really sleazy, self interested acceptance of political bribes back.
Incidentally Tam just how much did the Marxist Labour Unions sponsor the Liebour Election fund and within 90 days get 3.5 billion in wage rises and huge changes to employment law. Sleaze or not
