Come on, we all lknow what the Government says and what actually happens is as different as CHALk and Cheese, if you have truculent jobsworth Civil Servant almost bugger all gets done 11
True, sir, I've had direct experience of them on the MoD project teams at DE&S (mostly former servicemen). But I don't think this current Home Secretary has been successful at anything to date and I'm not sure you can blame all of that on the Civil Service.

Not sure if she's a total failure. As I overheard at The Strangers' Bar in the Commons recently, "Patel's got one, Boris is one."

Pratti Patel caused the problem. Now expects the civul servants to sort it out...... but how many know how to process a visa application, they outsourced all the dirty work of visa torture years ago. And the treasury has to approve all that cross channel travel and probably would only pay for a tressle table. Probably no internet either.

No money left for civil servants, gave it all to that nice Mr Dyson, Matt Hancocks mate down t pub, the guy with the useless satellite system, and any left over went to pay for some wallpaper and the cheese & wine from Tescos
Jonnie Foreigner from some East European country will have to wait ...... lets get our priorities right here

I saw Patel on Sky News in Poland three days ago claiming the fast-track system to enable Ukrainians coming to join family in the UK was live and "online now".

She was lying.

On Monday, she stated in parliament that the "pop-up" visa center for Ukrainians was open in Calais.

She was lying again.

One thing you've got to admire the Tories for is they are consistent.

Although I agree the tardiness by the UK is plain, I suspect it is the Jobsworth civil servants that are to blame NOT the Politicians .
W£e have all had our experiences at these Jobsworth chaps and chapesses, frankly they are a disgrace. Sending them to do the Visa applications in Kyiv would be an act of kindness,,,,,lol
In the same vein as Bojo and the rest of the flippy-floppy Tory mismanagement, Patel has changed policy (again) and now Ukrainians with passports can apply online for visas, travel to the UK and get their biometrics taken on arrival.

Note that NO jobsworths in the civil service were involved in this flip-flop.

I see there is more and more mention that Johnson is a bit too familiar with dodgy Russians. :(

The city of London, EPL, FA, FIFA, IOC (to name a few) and the Tory party are redolent with benefits of ill-gotten Russian largesse.

They're collectively still working on the magic formula, industrial strength laundry detergent needed to rid themselves of the stench.

They can't see that by labeling Chelsea FC as a "cultural heritage" and deserving of a "special license" to trade after decades of turning a blind eye to dirty money only slathers them ALL in another layer of filth.

How about leave Chelsea where it's at and punt Bojo and his clique over the Great Wall instead?

I see Johnson is happy snuggling up to Bone Saw just after Bone Saw has executed over 80 people in Saudi Arabia. Publicly snuggling up to Bone Saw is shameful conduct and it shames both Johnson and the UK.

As we here in Udon live in a country that retains the death sentence GT we are not in a position to take the moral high ground like you, who live in a country where it was abolished over 30 years ago. Must make choosing a holiday destination pretty difficult though Fiji? or perhaps Cambodia (did they not tell the KR?)

The Saudi regime is despicable. It has one of the worst governments in the world.

Wow, nice to see the UK govt finally doing something to help homeless Ukrainian refugees.
Three Hundred and fifty quid a month

Whilst not wishing to sound ungrateful, why hasnt this offer been available for the tens of thousands of homeless Brits

I see the sneaky UK government has paid 540 million bucks to Iran. Seems Iranians are not really that dangerous. Let the oil flow. Morales out the window when cash is to be made. On the other hand it will reduce the Russian war chest

Morals are out the window with sneaky China and some sneaky European nations continuing to buy Russian oil.

Why throw Senor Morales out the window? What did he ever do to you?

Thanks for the perceptive explanation. Who would have thought that Levante would have risen to such heights?
