Dr. Malone blasted public health officials, saying the government’s current COVID response is driving the virus to evade the vaccines and “The fundamental rules of clinic ethics have been thrown out the door.”

What a poor analogy.
Condoms are efficient because sperm is NOT to latex what aerosol IS to cotton medical masks (or other porous material). In fact the comparison has an opposite result.
The pores of latex condoms are about 2 mcm. Because sperm is about 10 times larger than the pores of latex, condoms are generally very efficient. It is the exact opposite with a virus and masks. The pores of the cotton mask (and other porous material used in medical masks) are huge compared to the aerosol size and smaller of a virus. Very similar to trying to keep mosquitos out of your yard with a chain link fence. The holes in the fence are huge compared to the mosquito. Condoms would never work if they were like masks.
Also if "surgical masks are not used to protect YOURSELF , their worn to protect OTHER PEOPLE from getting infected by YOU" that makes no sense and will not work either. If they do not protect "YOURSELF", they will not protect others either. The masks being used are porous to the virus from both sides of the mask when inhaling and exhaling.
I can't believe I actually spent time on this, but the analogy was so ridiculously funny that I felt compelled to help those who do not know any better. The analogy is the opposite of what it was trying to compare.
