Exactly, why do we need their products? The reason is we have allowed our manufacturing to move to China. A very big mistake. China is no one's friend, everything they do is geared towards profit, power and world domination at any cost. A sad reality but true. I hope the west and other countries wake up to the fact that we need to start our own manufacturing again and move away from dependence on the Chinese.

Why do we need Chinese products, SIMPLE, Greed on our part. Give me the product at the cheapest possible price. And that is what China, Thailand Phillipines etc offer a cheaply priced product due to cheap labour costs

I think there is information out there showing that the first cases were actually seen in mid-late November but not recognized as being a new virus.. That the Chinese government covered it up and that Chinese bureaucrats at the city, province and regional levels lied, obfuscated and covered their asses seems indisputable. That the CCP did their usual knee jerk reaction to stamp out any people not adhering to the government's talking points on the situation also seems true... The question today is can we believe the information given out by the Chinese government right now? With the reopening of "normal" life functions in Wuhan city and Hubei province encourage a resurgence of the virus there?

It's easy to knock China out of the equation, but then, as Canada found out this week, we'd have to take the US out of the equation, as well, for things like N95 masks. It's nice to think any one country can supply the high tech gear we need to fight wars, pandemics, gas our engines or heat our homes, feed our people, or medicate the sick.......but I think the world has become too far advanced for any one country to be able to do that on its own. If we were just dependent on tea from China or Kenya, we could probably make do with substitutes. But I'm not sure any country is willing to give up on thousands of immigrant doctors/nurses from other countries.
