It's way to early to judge yet.
Numbers coming from USA are hard to verify, as every death of someone is attributed to Corona virus, if they have it, whether their death was actually caused by it or not.

Also, we have a vaccine for the flu, and world herd immunity, so actual flu death numbers don't compare to Corona virus death numbers as we don't have a vaccine for it.

Only when we have a Corona virus vaccine, and world herd immunity, will we be able to accurately compare the two viruses.

As for "herd Immunity" In general, this means that when increased numbers of people in certain areas have already been infected and recovered, or have been vaccinated, fewer will become sick. we are not sure yet if individuals can become ill 2 or 3 times
Thererfore we havent a clue about Corona, SARS, MARS We may never find a vaccine for any or all and will have to learn how to live with these diseases

The only country to embrace the Herd Immunity at the moment is Sweden. There is nothing in their stats that indicate it is working. There is also a lot of studies that have shown that 'herd immunity' is no guarantee that you cannot get COVID more than once, your system does not always build antibodies. Top this off with the damage done to recovered patients in terms of organ damage and the argument for HI is looking thin.

Other countries that did not take action are Belarus (who's death figures are not credible) and Brazil, in all countries the toll is crazy high

The graph looks like it may prove the point. Take into consideration the following two points

1. Average life expectancy is constantly improving, average life expectancy in Sweden is over 80, with median age being 41. So drop over the reported years is inline with most other countries in the developed world.

2. We are are only part into 2020 but already there is a sharp jump in deaths from 2019.

3. The infection numbers and death numbers have leveled out a bit, but they have leveled out at a very high level, whereas in all neighboring countries, the levels of both infections and deaths has dropped dramatically.

There is nothing in any of the stats that indicate herd immunity is working. I could cherry pick articles that are critical of the HI approach, there are plenty of them. There may be some who cling to this myth, but so far, those critical of the approach are in the very clear majority.
