In their desperate clamour for the tourist dollar, it will be interesting to see if Thailand restores mandatory PCR testing for those arriving from China. Despite a surge in national infections after belatedly abandoning their zero Covid fallacy, the Chinese authorities are way behind the 8 ball on prevention.

A report from Milan airport suggests that one in two passengers from China have tested positive on arrival.

The US is now the fifth country that requires a negative PCR test result for visitors from China.

The scientific community is concerned that a new global wave could also create new, more vaccine resistant variants.

Am.i correct innthinking having a covid vaccine stops you from.dying but does not prevent a person.contracting the virus ..?? .. in which case the TAT latest plan to get around the mass arrival Chinese tourists is a bit of a no brainer, allowing them jabbing them then turning them.loose on the population ... all sounds a bit iffy to me and the plan has more holes tham Tams pockets

The UK says they won't be asking Chinese arrivals to provide Covid test results or be tested. Like Thailand, they are gagging for tourists as a drip-feed for the state coffers especially after the huge losses caused by Brexit, the pandemic and Putin's war (in that order).

It's a far cry from the days of March 2020 and most of 2020/2021, when the Governments of the day and or their unelected Health Officials, purported to argue that they had a duty of care to protect their citizens/people. Then proceeded to ban incoming travelers, even going so far to refuse their own citizens re-entry to their home countries, all in the name of protecting their citizens/people.

The same Governments/Health Officials, then proceeded to lock down city/state areas, confine individuals to homes, shut down if not ruin small businesses without recourse and impose harsh if not draconian rules/punishment on their people, all in the name of protecting their citizens.

Those same Governments/Health Officials, now appear not to be to concerned and almost eager in many a way, to assist those incoming tourist (who they know do stand a very high probability of being infected with Covid), into their country populations, with little or no regard for the consequences. Same origin of the source, same group of tourist.

I think you'll find Chinese racism towards others has remained consistent as well. I believe China still sells 'Darkie' toothpaste, for example, whereas other Asian countries have changed the name to 'Darlie'. I believe whites are still referred to as white (foreign) devils in China. On the other hand, you have crass posters such as tamada using a racist name for Chinese.

Always makes me chortle when im pulled up for using certain terminology when referring to our Chinese friends .. ive been caught out using C hinky and Slanty eyed in the past by my missus mainly whom i might add is half Chinese .. there lies my argument calling a person racist when he lives n sleeps with a person of yellowish tinge and more so hes supposed to be racist about ..

We are lucky to the extent that they understand that things have moved on since January 2020, and are acting accordingly.
