Your old man has to get out more marjamlew. GT strongly recommends Soi Samphan unless he might throw away any possible inheritance. I'm sure the girls there can convince him he still looks as handsome as his son. :D

Oh dear, jack has made an extremely damning criticism of the mad monk - "this bloke makes GWB look like Albert Einstein". He is starting to get more international attention for being a weirdo, out to lunch etc.

Zero Sanuk's link suggests he should be trying to learn from Malcolm Turnbull if he wants to be a more interesting poster in 2015.

Your a harsh man GT. Didn't you see Ronan's last post on the climate gate thread. It's comedy gold via a social anthropologist. My nomination for post of the year \:D/

GT is not so harsh ...... just less critical than he ought to be.......

As for ronan's "global warming expert" Benny Peiser aka the social anthropologist:
Peiser acknowledges that he is "not a climate scientist" and has "never claimed to be one."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benny_Peiser
It would seem that 2015 will be no different to 2014, 2013, 2012, 20.......... to the denialists.

But you give ronan (the arch neo-conservative) too much credit for .......... well almost everything. :D

For all those capable of critical thinking, and a compassionate heart ......... HAPPY NEW YEAR. :D \:D/ =D>

GT what do you reckon Julie or the Soi? \:D/
Good morning,Lew.Happy New Year to you.

That's a good test Aardy. I really had to think about some of the responses I made. I find the boats issue really difficult because I passionately believe that we should provide asylum and honour our international commitments to genuine refugees but I can see that what we end up doing is supporting the Indonesian mafia people smugglers.
Turns out I'm more Green 73% than Labor 69% even though I haven't voted for them (The Greens and may have been Don Chips Democrats) since I was either still a teenager or in me early 20's when Peter Garret was a Senate candidate in NSW. I side with the Tories on NO major issues but share 5% agreement mainly with their policies towards internet regulation, Japanese whaling ( I don't get our obsession with Whales) and increased government regulation for coal companies if their projects involve water.
Be interesting to see what results others get

I would suggest that today's result in Queensland is the final nail in the coffin for the most divisive, deceitful Prime Minister in our history.

Rather than follow his mentor, ''Lil Johnny" into oblivion at the hands of his constituents, hopefully he will do Australia, and his party, a favour, and fall on his sword. [-o<

Bye bye, Toxic Tony. =D>

The Queensland result was extraordinary. Labor coming from just 9 seats to become the new government. I wonder what Mal Brough has been doing today? Can he flush out a substantial challenger?

Probably - Brough usually resides where flushes end up. ;)

If I was a Betting Man I'd say Julie Bishop will probably have the top job by this time next week, but I've always been a lousy gambler ...... http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/tony-ab ... 7204027919

Is it time for a sandgroper? I would have thought they'd go for Turnbull.

I wouldn't wish the Mad Monk on an enemy and Oz isn't my enemy. I think Abbott just isn't up to the top job. I'd love to say he is because he has a Kiwi Mrs.

His wife's family live in a disadvantaged neighbourhood about 40 to 50 minutes from Wellington's CBD in NZ. I would have thought his visits there opened his eyes more to struggle street and reality.

Wasn't that also said of Julia Gillard And Kevin Rudd. I can remember many people on this and other forums and the average Australian showed levels of emotion from simple pleasure to ecstasy when Abbott was elected. Let's not forget he didn't get the job by accident, Australians voted him in; and here we are over a year later and he is being ostracised by the electorate.
I have no vested interested in this but could it be there is nothing wrong with the Australian Political System or its Politicians the problem is Australia has a flawed electorate. Australians know what they want on election day and a year later know what they don't want. Just a thought.
